Mrs. Beatrice Johnson, retired teacher

FLORENCE — Mrs. Beatrice Courtney Johnson, 81, a retired school teacher, died of a diabetic stroke Monday at Hinds General Hospital.

Services are 10 a.m. today at Antioch Baptist Church in Rankin County with burial in the Antioch Cemetery. Baldwin-Enochs Funeral Home of Pearl is handling arrangements.

Mrs. Johnson, a native of the Old Pearl community in Rankin County, was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.

She was a former resident of Nederland, Texas, where she taught school for 37 years. She also taught school in Vidor, Texas.

Survivors include: brothers, John Courtney of Florence and M.A. Courtney of Crystal Springs.
