Johnnie Lee Hedgepeth Sr.

Johnnie Lee Hedgepeth, Sr. 80, went to be with the LORD, Saturday, April 25, 2020 at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. Graveside services are 11 am Tuesday, April 28, 2020 at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.

Johnnie was born August 13, 1939 in Simpson County to Everette and Margie Williams Hedgepeth. He was a long-time resident of Florence and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Pearl, MS. He loved farming and watching things grow, especially his watermelons and loved to watch his cows from his back porch. A self-employed entrepreneur most of his life, he owned a sawmill doing custom sawing. Johnnie loved his family and enjoyed their trips to the Smoky Mountains.

Those preceding him in death include his parents, Everette and Margie Hedgepeth, his siblings and 2 grandchildren.

Left to mourn his passing is his wife of 48 years, Wanda Hedgepeth of Florence; sons, Robert (Tammy) Hedgepeth of Florence, Mickey (Jodie) Hedgepeth of Florence, Johnnie "Lee" (Laura) Hedgepeth of Florence; daughters, Margie Byrd (Bo Blissett) of Pearl, Sue (David) Parish of Braxton, Michelle Slay (Michael Stephens) of Florence, 13 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
