HARRISVILLE - James Vardaman Ashley, 69, died Thursday at home. Services are 3 p.m. today at Antioch Baptist Church with burial in church cemetery.

Stringer's Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

He is survived by his wife, Mittie P. Ashley; daughters, Joyce Ashley and Alta J. Ashley, both of Harrison; Walter Ash- ley and James Ashley, both of Harrison; sisters, Minnie Taylor of Jackson, Ethel Bass and Velma Welch, both of Florence, and Alice Lewis of Lathonia, Ga.
