HARRISVILLE - JB White, 97, passed away June 25, 2017 at the VA Medical Center in Jackson. Visitation will be 5pm-8pmTuesday at Stringer Family Funeral Home in Crystal Springs and 2pm-3pm Wednesday at Antioch Baptist Church. Services will be 3pm Wednesday at Antioch Baptist Church with burial at Antioch Cemetery. Stringer Family Funeral Home in Crystal Springs is handling arrangements.
Mr. White was a native of Copiah County and moved to Simpson County in 1955. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.
Mr. White worked at Mississippi Industry for the Blind as a material cutter and retired from Coca Cola Bottling Plant as Head Night Watchman in Jackson. He was an Army Corporal veteran of WWII and a POW.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtis Lewis White; daughter, Betty Walker Bannister; son, Billy Wayne White; and grandson, Jason Kent.
He is survived by son, Jerry Blaine White of Pearl; daughter, Linda White Puckett of Harrisville; sister, Josie McGowan of Terry; 10 grandchildren, Lorrie Dove, Eddie Walker, Dyral Bannister, Mark Bannister, Mechell Pruden, Jerry B. White, Jr., Shonda Pinter, Scott Brister, Olivia Lee, and Melissa White; 18 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren.
