Mrs. Joyce Jordan Woods, 82, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at her daughter's home in Eads, Tennessee. The family will receive friends for a visitation at Chancellor Funeral Home on Friday, July 17th from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. A Graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 18th at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Florence.
Due to current regulations on gatherings, no more than 10 people will be allowed in the Funeral Home at any time and mask or face coverings must be brought and worn. Out of respect, please practice social distancing.
Joyce was born November 7, 1937 to Bill and Minnie Jordan in Pattison, MS. She raised her family in Simpson County, MS before moving to Farmerville, LA where she spent the last 20 years of her life, as long as her health allowed. She then moved to Eads, TN to live with her daughter.
She loved flowers and was so proud of her garden. Strangers would stop and knock on her door and ask if they could walk through her yard. When she wasn't in her garden, she was fishing. She was an excellent fisherman and enjoyed it thoroughly. Joyce was a member of Crestview Baptist Church in Farmerville, LA where she would often sing solos. She loved her church family.
Along with her parents, Joyce is also preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Woods; her son, Darrell Kelly; and her siblings, Kelly Jordan, William Earl Jordan, and Lois Speights.
She is survived by her children, Debbie (Lee) Jones of Eads, TN, Kathy (Clay) Edrington of Collierville, TN, James (Roxanne) Kelly of Simpson County, MS, Sharron McNay of Braxton, MS, and Cynthia York of Braxton, MS; brother, Herbert Jordan of Simpson County, MS; 16 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
