Bruce, Miss,. Nov. 6--Services were held for T/5 James Harold Miller, at Concord Baptist Church on Friday Nov. 5, the Rev. W.J. McPhail officiating, with the Thornton Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Military rites were given at the graveside by members of Bruce Post, Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. Miller was 32. He enlisted with the 4th Division of the 29th Field Artillery in 1940. He died while serving with his outfit on Normandy Beach on July 12, 1944, one of the many who lost their lives in wresting France from the Germans in the big invasion of 1944.
He is survived by a son, James Miller; by his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. P.H. Miller, of Ellard Community; by six brothers and sisters;
R.D. Miller, Mrs. Corrine Kimbrell, Mrs. Ruby Morgan, and Hays
Miller, all of Memphis; Edward Miller of Calhoun City and Mrs.
Luther Hughes, of Bruce.
