Below are the links to the cemeteries in Calhoun, as well as some additional information about those cemeteries. If you do not see the cemetery linked to a page, I do not have any additional information. Please note: Most of the Calhoun cemeteries are only partially transcribed. Directions added January 2002 by Rose Diamond
Calhoun
County now uses a 911 system. If the county map was divided into
four equal sections, roughly the County Roads (CR) would be
located in:
Northeast - 100s, Northwest - 200s
Southwest - 300s, Southeast - 400s
There are multiple
ways to arrive at most of these locations. I have tried to use the
safest and easiest routes, though not always the shortest.
Most
of these cemeteries are located in rural areas with no water, no
stores, no facilities.
If the cemeteries are on private
property, you need to receive permission to cross the properties.
Trespassers will not be tolerated!

If you turn in the driveway and go through the gate on the left, the cemetery is about 100 yards due east where the cedar, pine and oaks are standing. [Johnny Brummett says his father said it was Hastings. Luther Murphree posted a sign with Baily-Hastings and listed people who are supposed to be buried there, though I don't know his sources. Shed Hill Davis had a reference listing one of the tombstones, which I also pieced together, which has Beersheba wife of W. F. Maxey and another piece with 1814 on it. W. F. Maxey is in the 1860 Census Transcriptions by Imogene Springer with a wife whose name starts with B. and her age would match the 1814 information. The Davis information for this Maxey marker is Township 13S Range 1 West ½ of NE ¼ of Section 9, which is how I found it. Springer information has a deed dated 12/18/1852 from Bailey to Freeman with the coordinates of NW ¼ of Township 13, range 1 west, section 9 “except 1 acre graveyard”.]
