Succumbs at Jackson Baptist Hospital-Burial Services At Concord on
August 18
Mrs. Annie Eliza Black Bollinger, age 63, who had lived in the Old Field community for half a century or more, died in the Baptist Hospital at Jackson, Miss., on Wednesday, August 17. Mrs. Bollinger had been ill for some 7 or 8 weeks. Before her illness, she was a very active member of the Baptist Church and a leader in civic and community affairs. She was married to her husband, Mr. P.H. Bollinger in Sept. 1909. Her death is the first to occur in their family. She was born in Yalobusha County. She was a fine woman and held in highest respect and esteem by her neighbors and those who knew her.
Funeral services were held from Concord Baptist Church on Thursday afternoon, Aug. 18, at 3:00 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Eugene Wright, assisted by Rev. Gullick, Rev. H.V. Hardin and Rev. Buford Roane. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Pryor Funeral Home had charge of the rites and pallbearers were Kenneth Bollinger, John D. Black, Ed. Taylor, Bill Ray, Robert Bollinger, and Rudell Bollinger.
Besides her husband, she is survived by the following sons and
daughters; T.W. Bollinger, Rt. 4, Water Valley, E.D. Bollinger and
Dwaine Bollinger of Memphis, X.L. Bollinger, Rt. 4, Water Valley,
L.A. Bollinger, Memphis, Mrs. T.C. Crutchfield of Calhoun City, Mrs.
Ed Bagwell, Atlanta, Ga., by three brothers, Jesse Black,
Coffeyville, Emmett Black, Old Field Community, and Tom Black, Water
Valley, and by 26 grandchildren.
