Mrs.
Collums Dies At Sarepta Thurs.
Mrs. Julia Patterson Collums died very unexpectedly at her
residence at Sarepta last Thursday.Although in failing health, her
condition wasn't thought to be serious.She was 78.
Services were
held at Robbs Methodist Church Friday.Rev. Buford Roane, Rev. Cooper
Hartley and Rev. Day officiated.Interment followed in the church
cemetery with Cook Funeral Home in charge of arrangement.Pallbearers
were C.R. Dickson, J.H. Howell, J.C. Helms. Hubert Glenn, Dever
Helms, W. M. Freeman, J.Q. Anderson and Emmett Nolon.
Mrs. Collums was one of the most highly esteemed ladies of the county.A member of the Baptist church she loved her church and its work. When able she was always in attendance.A widow of the late Walter Collums, they reared a fine family of boys.
Mrs. Collums was born in Calhoun County October 12, 1880.She was
the daughter of the late D. R. Patterson and Jamie Taylor Patterson.
Mrs. Collums leaves three sons, D.L. Collums and D.R.
Collums, Tupelo, and Jimmie Collums, Sarepta; five brothers, W.A.
Patterson, Houlka, D.R. Patterson, Jackson, J.L. Patterson, Rome,
Geo., W. Patterson, Austin , Texas and Charles Patterson, Sarepta;
four sisters, Miss Jamie Sue Patterson, Mrs. W. R. Marion and Mrs.
J. M. Hood, Houlka, and Mrs. Grady Cook, Pontotoc.
