Am seeking information on my great-grandmother's ancestry. She was Ida [Holly?] SPENCER, b Oct 1889 in Garland, Tipton Co, TN. She is listed on the 1900 Tipton Co, TN Census in the household of an uncle, Eligan L. DENNIS (4th Civil District No. "A", ED 126, sheet 1). Based on this information, I am assuming that the Nancy DENNIS listed on 1900 and the E.J. DENNIS listed on 1910 are the same person. I believe Eligan was her son, and Mary [DENNIS] Bankston was her daughter. I also believe Ida SPENCER's mother was her daughter, but died prior to 1900. Ida SPENCER married four times between 1910 and 1924/26. After the death of her third husband, J.A. Carlton, and after the 1920 Census, she went to Greenville to live. (Perhaps with the DENNIS, AUSTIN or BANKSTON families?) Her last marriage was to an Indian Chief Prairie. She then contracted TB and was sent to the sanatorium at Magee, MS. Supposedly she was buried in/ near Greenville. Her children were sent to the Baptist Children's Village Orphanage at Jackson, MS in 1924/26. Her name was listed as Holly Spencer Prairie on their entry records. Have been unsuccessful in gaining a death certificate for her. Any information, especially cemetery info on Ida or her DENNIS, AUSTIN, or BANKSTON relatives would be greatly appreciated.

Is the William KING in 1870 Washington Parish Thomas's son William Henry? Most of William's children were born in Mississippi-what county? There is a John KING about 10 households away. To what family does he belong? Thomas I. KING married in 1831, almost certainly in Washington Parish. In the 1830 LA census, I find no likely parent for him.
