I am trying to locate a book titled Memoirs of the Lindsey-McNeil
Families,
published in 1975 by Rev.J(arrett) Allen Lindsey, then a Methodist
minister
in southwest Mississippi, I believe somewhere near the Mississippi River.
We have heard from older relatives that this book contains information
not known to our part of the MCNEIL family on his
LINDSEY family's connection to our Daniel McNeil, Sr.
We believe from his name that he must be related in some way
to Daniel McNeil's son Rev. Jarret Wesley McNeil.
I would like to obtain an address to correspond with this gentleman,
if still possible, or with one of his descendants, if there are any.
If you are unable to put me in touch with him or his descendants
but do have a copy of his book or know where I could still order one,
please let me know. If you do have this book, I would appreciate
your copying pages from it in return for reimbursement.
Thank you so much for any help you can give me.

I am seeking to find information, the birthdate and a birth or baptismal certificate of my grandfather, Charles Richard CALVERT, who, according to the 1910 US census, was born in Mississippi. I do not have a county but I have an approximate date: September 1870. His mother was Sophia PAGE CALVERT of Covington, Louisiana, and his father was William Henry Calvert of New Orleans. Did they have relatives in Mississippi? Two brothers were born in New Orleans and all lived there. I would also appreciate any information, possibly a death date or certificate, on his mother as she no longer appeared after his birth. Thanks for being online!!!

EVANS, David Augustus; Jessee U.; William B. These men lived in Lauderdale County, AL when their father, Jessee Evans, died in 1824. It appears that they moved to MS after their father died; possible to Tishomingo or Itawamba Counties, although no hard evidence has been found of this. My great-grandfather, David Augustus Evans, Jr., was born in MS 16 Mar 1838. His father died 23 Dec 1838, presumably in MS, since it was only a few months after the birth of his son. D.A., Sr. was married to Elizabeth "Betsy" Bearden; their oldest surviving child was son William B. Evans. Jessee U. Evans was D.A. Sr.'s brother, possibly older. The probate of their father's estate said the brothers claimed title to all of Jessee's land, "free and clear." I am trying to locate D.A. Sr.'s family in MS at the time of D.S. Jr.'s birth and afterwards until Betsy moved the family to TN.

I am looking for any information on my grandfather S.J. PATTERSON. My family knows very little about him. We know that he was from Mississippi but he did not have a birth certificate. The date of birth on his tombstone
is June 9 1900, but some believe he was older. There is a rumour that he was from a small town called Holly Grove but I could not find a city by that name, so I am posting queries to all towns with "Holly" just in case. Another factor that complicates my search is that my grandfather claimed to be abandoned by his father, so we aren't 100% sure if Patterson was his real last name or the name of the family that "adopted" him. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just starting out. Looking for little known information on my grandmother, Willie Della SCOTT. Born September 3, 1901, in MS, unknown county. She "came from a large family". Her parents ran a boarding house. They lived "near the river". At about age 15, she ran away with and married my grandfather, Jack MILLER. My grandfather and his brother came to the U.S. from Poland (Jewish). He changed his name from Jake MELNICK to Jack MILLER when he entered the U.S. at NY. My grandparents had two sons, Harry Reed MILLER and Morris MILLER, both deceased. My grandparents divorced early in my father's childhood. My grandmother died in Houston, TX on September 25, 1978. She was bitter about her past, and refused to talk much about it. Any help would be appreciated, either via E-mail or snail mail to 1026 Lee Road,Pearland, TX 77581.
I am searching with very limited information..so please anything will be greatly appreciated! I am an adoptee, and I have only a couple of things to go on. My adopted parents are both dead and I only found out since their deaths. I am most definatly American Indian, so that is a place to start. I came from the central Mississippi area. So possibly Choctaw or Chickasaw. I was born in 1954 supposedly in Meridian, Miss. Don't ask me if I have checked for adoption records :) cause I have and things are very suspicious of an illegal adoption. The only names I have to go on are Penny or Penney or Pinney, and Wright. Any help in this would be greatly appreciated.
