(b. 1811 Tennessee d. 1873 Arkansas)family that lived in Mississippi for
5 years during the period of 1835-1840. He married Martha BOWMAN b.
1808 Alabama. I am not sure of the County where they lived in MS. I
know by census records that their third child William Thomas EVANS was
b. in MS.
I am looking for information on a white man, William GOFORTH, married to a Chickasaw Indian lady named "Mahate". I don't know what county they lived in, but they had a son named "Solomon" born near the Ponotoc Ridge area of Mississippi about 1850 or so. Thanks
LIZANA, Pauline. She was born April 1851 in Mississippi according to the 1870 New Orleans, LA, census. I con't find birth parents. There is a large concentration of LIZANA's in MS. Any LIZANA info is useful. She married Alcide FRANK in 1867 Louisiana. They are my 3rd great grandparents. I wastold by my great aunt that Pauline is related to the DEDEAUX's and the BENOIT's. I can't find the connection.
I am looking for information on Jack Franklin CARTER and his wife Jane
LEE. I know they lived in an unknown Mississippi county. The only
information I have on them is that they had a son George Carter, who was
born on March 28, 1889 in TN, he died April 22, 1968 in Tipton County,
TN. He married Tava Isophene Jordan. I would like to hear from anyone
researching this family.
Frank Walter JORDAN, born January 1865 in unknown Mississippi county.
Both his parents were born in unknown Miss. counties. He married Julia
HOWELL, she was born August of 1862 in TN, both her parents were born in
TN. They had Tava Isophene Jordan on August 20, 1898 in Shiloh, TN, she
died July 11, 1995 in Tipton Co., TN, she married George CARTER.
Seeking information on James W. GASQUE/GASKEY, b in MS, unknown county, around 1840. He appeared in 1860 Monroe Co., AL census living with Joseph S. COVIN and his wife Caroline SIMPKINS. James W. m Caroline (SIMPKINS) COVIN 15 Mar 1866 in Monroe Co., AL after Joseph's death. James and Caroline had one daughter named Ada GASQUE/GASKEY.
Seeking any information on the family of George J. SMITH, b: in
Misissippi, and wife, Elizabeth CHESSNEY, also b: in Mississippi. Sons:
John SMITH and James Reed SMITH, b: 10 August 1860 in Mississippi; d: 30
November 1934 Altus, Jackson County, OK. According to family legend,
George Smith was last seen at Vicksburg, MS, following the Civil War
battle. He was wounded and leaning against a tree, a neighbor reported
to his wife. Son James married a girl whose family lived in Choctaw
County, but they didn't marry until they were in Texas. Any marriages
for an Elizabeth CHESSNEY and George J. SMITH? Any lists of dead or
wounded at Vicksburg that may include him?
TAME family. According to my ancestor, Thomas Tame, his parents are from Mississippi. I know he was born and raised in Greene County, Tennessee. I have looked for the TAME family everywhere, so why not try here? If you have any information on the Tames from Mississippi, I would appreciate it. It would be in the early 1800's to about 1820. Thanks!
