      My Gr grandfather was Parham John RENFRO born 1815, Ky., son of William and Betsy BARLOW RENFRO. Parham John lived in Coahoma Co., near Dublin, as my grandfather Joseph Mathias was born there, 1859. children of Parham, William H. ( killed in Civil war), John D., Melissa J, married R. H. EDWAEDS, then John CASEY, Parham Walter, Missouri, Jenny, Thomas Walter, George W. (died young boy), Joseph Mathias, these were children of Parhams first wife, Rebecca Ann BAYNES. Parham married second, Zilpha Pope MCCLENDON, they had two daughters, Ada Mae (married Ben WALKER), Ellie N., Parham John died Oct 28, 1889 anf wife Zilpha died Nov 3, 1889, both had infuenza. Would like to correspond with any of the descendants of these people. Also would like to correspond with descendants of other children of William and Betsy BARLOW RENFRO , childrens names: Melissa married Isaac Callaway PARMER/PALMER, Willial married Mahala ROSS, he died abt 1851, Walter , Elizabeth,, there may have been other children.       I am searching for a Great Grand Father of mine: Lewis (Lou) HOLCOMB. He was from Oklahoma and was in the Land Rush of 1892. I found in my local paper the following item: "Friends and relatives will be saddened to hear the Lewis (Lou) Holcomb died in the State of Mississippi. The date was in and around August, 1903. He was a Civil War vet b ut only served in the Union Army for three months. He was born in Virginia in the part that later became West Virginia. I would like to find out where he died and is buried.

      I am looking for the parents and siblings of a Virgil Buchannon WILSON. Can't seem to find him anywhere before 1898 when he married my ggrandmother. He was born in Cumberlan (I don't know which county the city is in) in the 1870's and moved to Limestone County, Texas where he met and married Ellena Nevada ANDERSON.       I am looking for any information on Eliza Lugene BERRIGAN. I do not know her maiden name. BERRIGAN is her husband's name. She was born in Georgia in October 1857. But she gave birth to a son, John B. or Jack R. in February 3, 1882, in Mississippi. Mr. BERRIGAN died and she married Robert ALFORD, I think in Mississippi.       Walter CARNES from unknown county. Born 1890-95. Died 1932. He was a camp cook for the Rail Road, lived in AR, TX, NM,in addition to MS. I'm sure he had family in MS in 1932, because he returned to MS just before he died, he had TB. I think he went back to be cared for by family.

      James MADISON from Memphis m. Unknown from Yazoo County. They had at least one child, Walter Scott Madison born about 1850 and died about 1925 in Belzoni area of Humphreys County. Unknown divorced James and James returned to Memphis, remarried and is thought to have more children. Unknown wife remained in Yazoo - Belzoni area. Walter Scott Madison first married a COBB who died in childbirth, then married Ida Mae HAMILTON UPCHURCH, a widow thought to be from Yazoo County. She had two children, Nora and Claude. Together they had Pauline, Edward Henry, and (?)Brewer. Ida Mae died in a hospital in Memphis about 1928. Edward Henry Madison is my grandfather and he died in 1933 in Clay county. It is thought Walter and Ida Mae lived north of Belzoni in a community known as Jaytown, Jaketown, or something similiar. Buried in Belzoni cemetary is an Annie Madison, born 1899 and died 1913, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Madison. Is this the same Madisons? Edward married Roxie Mae Young from Clay County in 1917 in this area. She was visiting her uncle Tom Young who owned a store in this community. I am having a terrible time trying to find anything about the Madisons who lived somewhere near Belzoni. I don't know whether to look in Yazoo, Washington, Sunflower, Holmes, or somewhere else to find info. Have not been able to find any reference to these people. Closest clue is Annie Madison. Help.

      I am seeking information of the parents and other kin of a Leola KEEN, born in Cameron, MS around 1916. She married a Jack CHIN around 1933-35, location of marriage unknown, but gave birth to two daughters (still living) and a son James (deceased at age 7 mos.), all born in Helena, Arkansas. Her husband died on Dec. 21, 1938 and she died in a auto accident enroute from Helena to Baltimore, MD after her husband's funeral which was Dec 27, 1938 - the accident occurred sometime after the funeral, lat Dec. 1938 or early Jan. 1939 - location of accident unknown. Am mainly interested in immediate family background of Leola. Surviving daughters are also interested in their mother's family since they were orphaned early.

      Our great grandmmother Sarah BOUDREAU(X)- nickname "Pinky" and three sons had been slaves somewhere in the South. Maybe MS, GA or LA. Her first husband Ed or Edward BOUDREAU(X) died about three years before war ended. Three sons, Edward, George and Unknown, assumed following surnames, Edward W. WHITE - George GOOSBY and (Unknown) APPLEBY. Sometime after Civil War (date uknown), they relocated to, or vicinity of Hernando, MS to work on a farm owned by a Colonel WHITE. While employed on Colonel WHITE'S farm she married an ex-slave - last name MERRITT. They had one son - (Sarah's 4th). Seeking any records relative above individuals, including Colonel WHITE whose descendants might have employment or other records that would facilitate search of their past. Also, seek vital statistics, ie, Sarah MERRITT'S marriage, death and burial location; her 2nd husband (1st name unk) MERRITT marriage death & burial place. We believe our grandfather Edward W. WHITE took Colonel WHITE'S name as surname that identifies my generation. Edward W . WHITE was about 12 yrs old when he relocated to in Memphis. He was youngest of Sarah's first three children - born about 1862, so he would have been about 12 in 1872. He became a physician after graduation MeHarry Medical College (May have been Walden College at that time) in 1893. We have complete records after 1893 - but none before that.

      I am 53, my grandfather (William Augusta LEWIS) would be around 100 if he were alive. I'm trying to follow the family back to Virginia -- I'm told that they originally came from there. The story is that an ancestor went with Jackson to fight the Battle of New Orleans, and then settled in Mississippi.

      Where is Benjamin TONEY in 1880? He is listed as B. T. TONA in Smith in 1860, married 2nd Mariah ALLEN in Rankin 1863, in Pike 1870, had young children in 1880 but haven't found them on Soundex. Most of his children lived in Washington Parish when grown. One daughter married in W. Feliciana. Have been told that Benjamin was buried in Hattiesburg or in Jones Co. Cannot find Benjamin, Mariah, or unmarried children in 1880.       Am trying to find my grandfather's parents. He was William Hayes HAIRE born on 1/27/1892 in Oakdale, LA. His parents were supposedly James Madison HAIRE and Fannie NEWTON from MS, possible Washington Co. or Yalobusha Co. We are not sure and have not been able to locate anything.
