I am interected to know anything at all about COULTERS, in early 1820s, Monroe Co Ms. Two COULTER men, John and Edward, md two Wilcox women in Monroe Co, John in 1820 and Edward in 1824. A Desire WILCOX was found in 1820 Monroe Co census as HH over 45 yrs age. 1 male 16-26, 1 female 10-16, 1 female 16-26. These would match ages of James who md Elizabeth REYNOLDS in 1824, Lurain who md Edward COULTER in 1824, and Mary who md John COULTER in 1820. These 3 families all later settled in Winston Co Ms in early 1830s. I just recently discoverd that Desire may be wife of Moses WILCOX of Franklin Co Ga. The mentioned children were b GA. I also think that Clarissa DENMAN, wife of Absolam DENMAN who d Monroe Co Ms ca 1821 was another of their children. They were md in Franklin Co Ga 1811.I found no COULTERS in the census, but I did find a William COLBARD, with males that would match ages of John and Edward. Cannot find reference to COLBARD after this in any records. I do know that ca 1823 a John M COULTER moved to Monroe Co, but information about him does not match so far. Does anyone have any information about about Wm COLBARD or COLBERT? Could this have been a mispelling as often happened in those days? Have not had a chance to look at copy of original census record. If anyone can help, or connects in any way, I will be grateful for nay information.
