Allen
I am looking for researchers of Nathan Nelson Graves Allen,
born February 1775 in Edgecombe County, North Carolina, a
son of Rhoda Allen. Nathan N.G. Allen moved with his family
to Tennessee before settling in Monroe County, Mississippi,
where he was among its earliest Methodist ministers. He had
at least six children with his wife Celia Bloodworth.
Nathan N.G. Allen left his family and moved to Nacogdoches,
Texas in the mid-1820s. He later married Margaret
Quinn and raised a second family in present-day Cherokee
County, Texas. I am especially interested in any
information on the descendants of Nathan's first marriage.

TUBB
I am in the process of tracing my wife's family name on her mother's side.
We don't have any older living relatives and only have info that was passed word
of mouth and some pictures. Hopefully we will have a web site, which will
include pictures, completed in the near future. The name we are tracking
is James Abraham Tubb b: March 17, 1875. He was married to Sally L.
Garrison. They lived in Walker County, AL with 4 daughters. Daughters
were born between 1900 and 1915. His father was John Summers Tubb. James
was a coal mine superintendent. Just as the depression started the mines
were closed and he left Walker County to return to his home town of
Amory,MS to find work. He then went to Louisville, MS to work, which is
where he died and is supposedly buried. He died within 2 years(we do not
have a date of death), and never returned to Alabama where his family had
remained. My wife visited Amory in 1957 and we have a picture of the
family house, which she says was in very bad shape even then. No one
lived in it. His sister had supposedly lived next door but we do not have
a name. I have a copy of the book "The Tubb Family of Monroe Mississippi
and Their Kin", which has been a great help. Any and all help or
suggestions will be appreciated. John Newman
