Her parents were Granville Lee and Margaret Spencer. Her grandfather was John Spencer. I believe that her mother may have married a Waldron after Granville Lee's death since she had a half-brother named Harp Waldron. There is a Granville Lee (son of Strother and Catherine) in the 1850 census. Granville Lee died in 1867 (found this in your "Cemeteries of Tippah County'). I would like to confirm that this was the Granville Lee who was married to Margaret Spencer. My great-grandmother, Minerva Lee Hamilton (1862-1957), lived to be 95 and there were several newspaper articles about her in the New Albany, MS newspaper. She was born in 1862 in the Mt. Olivet community--part of Tippah County at that time. According to another newspaper article, her mother, Margaret Spencer, came to the Mt. Olivet community from South Carolina by ox-wagon train in 1840. Minerva Lee married Samuel Christopher Hamilton in 1881 and moved to New Albany, MS after his death in 1918. Prior to that, she lived in the Mt. Olivet community all of her life except for a few years in Tennessee (Saulsbury,I believe)when she was a child.
