I am looking for any information on the above families in Tippah County
in the 1840 -1855 time frame. My ggrandfather Linza R. Brim and wife Jemima
(Simpson) Brim were in the 1850 census for Tippah Co. Linza was born in
Lincoln Co.,TN in 1828/29 the son of William Brim/Mary Westbrook. I have
very little information on the family during that time except that William
died while Linza was young and some of the family moved to Tippah Co. Linza
moved to Navarro Co., TX in 1854 where he married Sarah J. Scott in 1869
after Jemima died in 1868. Sarah was born in MS in 1848 but I don't know
if it was in Tippah Co. Her family came to TX in 1851. I don't know if
Linza had siblings but assume he did since a bibliography of him from Navarro
Co. said he was the only member of his family to come to Texas. I am descended
from his second marriage. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Chapel. Auda was son of WC and AF SMART. How are the above SMARTS related

Mary NORWOOD about 1846. The Thomas SMART and William NORWOOD families

I am researching my gr-gr grandmother Georgia Ann Cavender Smith. She
was born in Mississippi in 1861, married James B. Smith in Dallas Co.,
Ark. and died there in 1927. Her mother was Sarah and her father's name
is unknown but we believe he died in the Civil War. Her mother remarried
to Elias Overton in Tippah Co., MS and then the family was in Arkansas
after 1870 we believe. I would like to know who Georgia Ann's parents and
their families were. There has been some suggestions that she was related
to the Hudson and Peeler families but I have absolutely no proof. Also,
my grandmother tells me that Georgia Ann Cavender Smith was the half sister
of Oscar Overton and Rebecca Overton Cash, the grandmother of Johnny Cash.
Johnny Cash's uncle was a frequent visitor to the Smith farm in the early
1900's. I hope someone out there knows about this information.

Have been researching the SNOW name and I have been seeking info on
an Eli Warren Snow b. 1818 in Tn. m. 1843 in Tippah Co. Ms. to Caroline
??? They were in Tx by at least 1870s. Don't know if the family had moved
there or if he just went on his own. I have been told his parents were
from NC but he was born in Tenn so I feel as though they were moving. I'd
sure like to find who his parents were. The parents were born in NC and
?Eli was born in TN. Don't know if the parents lived in Tippah Co or if
Eli just went there on his own. Eli Snow b1818 TN m Caroline??? in Tippah
Co. MS in 1843. Eli had 7 children, Eve Eleanor, Mary, Alexander B., Nancy
Lavona, Malinda, Eli W., and Cordora. The children were all born in MS
but don't know exactly where. They were in Montague Co Tx by at least 1870.

I am interested in families related to the WILSON, ROSSON, MARS or
SWINDLE lines, Henry WILSON married Mary SWINDLE in Tippah county in 1860
the family lived in a location that later was to become Alcorn county.
Henry had Nancy J, Mahaly J, Moses, Sarah A, Charlotte and Laney from a
previous marriage to Nancy Ann Ragsdale. He and Mary had Joe, Launa, Lidia,
Emily and William A. with Mary Swindle. Henry's father was Moses WILSON.
Both Henry and Mary were born in Tennessee.
Henry ROSSON was born in Tippah county abt 1860 to Mary ROSSON, He
married Mary MARS abt 1880 in Alcorn county. They had Mamie, Joe, Bunyon,
Maggie, Henry, Curtis, and Lillie. I know very little about the ROSSON
and MARS families. Descendants of all 4 families moved to the Northeast
portion of Texas or the Southeast portion of Oklahoma.
