on 1850 Census Jacob F. Coffman and Family, His son Samuel and his family, and Robert and his family, I think Robert(born Tenn.) is Jacob's son also, this is only census that I have found him, although there is a death record that ties him in to where they were,living in Franklin, Alab. Where was he before?? where did he go?? Samuel and Jacob F. went to Ark. Have them there in Independence Co. Do you have any tie in's. Inf.? Looks like they may have been just traveling thru since a child is on census as born 1849 Alab and another born 1854 Ark. I have no answers for Robert (born Tenn)and family, wife Mary born N.C. son james, & alfred 2yrs and Nancy age 4.(all born Alab.) A daughter of Jacob F. Coffman is not on any of the next records. My grandfather was Logan C. Conner/Connor. He married Lydia Eliza Dishongh McGaughy in 1892 in Marshall Co., Ms. My grandmother, Lydia Alice Conner was born in 1893 and shortly afterwards her parents divorced. She says she remembers seeing him once when she was about six when he came for a short visit with a grown son named William.
I found an L.C. Conner in the 1860 Tippah Co. census married to Barbary E. She was the daughter of Andrew Prather who died in 1858 according to probate records. In the 1860 census he had a son James B. b. 1858 and a son Robert M. 4/12. I found him again in the 1880 Tate Co., Ms. census and he also had a daughter Mollie b. 1867 and son William b. 1877.
My grandmother thinks L.C. lived in Ark. after the divorce. He was born about 1825 in N.C. Perhaps a Prather researcher can help me out with this line. Any help appreciated.
