- I have a puzzle in Pontotoc Co. MS 1835 - 1840. My
gggfather Green B. WARD is listed in the 1840 -1845
Census records in this county. He is married to
Elizabeth McDANIEL and in 1837 has his first son Hugh
Nelson WARD. I can not find a marriage, land ownership,
tax record or anything beyond the census record. I know
after the 1845 census he leaves for KY, either Graves
or Calloway Co. According to a census index I have the
only McDaniel living in Pontotoc Co. is Samuel McDaniel
Pg. 158 Pontotoc MS 1840 - 1845 NELSON, Calip page 11
Pontotoc MS 1840 - 1845 NELSON, George W. 11 Pontotoc
MS 1840 - 1845 NELSON, Joshua 11 Pontotoc MS 1840 -
1845 The Nelson is a guess at a possible connection due
to the naming of the first child Hugh Nelson WARD. I
would appreciate any constructive suggestions on what I
might search for to identify these individuals. BTW the
only thing I have that indicates Elizabeth WARD, Green
Berry WARD's wife is a McDANIEL is from information
found in Polk Co. AR many years later. She could just
as easily be a NELSON. Thanks in advance for any help.

- James and Elizabeth BOSWELL are in Pontotoc co.
1850 census along with 10 children. Son James, age 6,
is probably my gg grandfather James Lewis Clark Boswell
who moved to Hill co. Tx in 1869 after the war. He
served in 41st Miss. Inf. Also listed in census in
another household are Joseph and Lucy BOSWELL, ages and
place of birth make them right for James(Sr.) parents.
Need connection information, relatives, cemetery, etc.
