- CARLISLE, JOHN...Am searching for ANY info. I know
he was born in NC, 1810-11. His father was of foriegn
birth. Do not know about his mother, or their names.
Sibblings? I know he married my g. grandmother, Matilda
Ophelia PERRY, in 1835. She was b. AL -1819. Their
first son, WILLIAM, was born in TN, 1836. JASPER,
NEWTON (twins), and ELIZABETH JANE, b.around 1844, were
born in AL. The next son FRANCIS MARION, my g. father,
b. Nov 1, 1846, I'm not sure about. One census says AL,
another MS. Last son by MATILDA, HARLEY FRANKLIN, was
probably born in MS. The 1850 census shows theim, along
with JOHN, living in Chocktaw Co, MS. By 1860, MATILDA
OPHELIA had died (latter part of 1850) and JOHN had
married again to NANCY JANE SAFFELL, and had a two year
old daughter, CLARINDA. Still in Chocktaw Co. JOHN
CARLISLE was a Mason. Member of Lodge # 224. He also
built the New Hope Presbyterian Church around 1848,
located on the Walthall-West point Rd. in Webster Co.
MS. He died May 2, 1874. Can find no records of death,
or burial place. The date I found in the Masonic death
records book. 1819-1919, book-1. If ANYONE out there
has ANYTHING, please e-mail at: vof@beta.jesupnet.com
Thanks in advance!!!!

information on Ed Harris. The only information I have

Minter Hamblin. They had 2 children, Jesse Eugene
Harris (b. 9/17/1905) and Martha Harris (b. abt 1903),
both in Pontotoc County, MS. All the information that I
have on Ed Harris is that he left his wife, Minter,
when Jesse was about 2 years old. Probably 1907 or
1908. The rumor is that he moved to Texas and changed
his last name to Harrison. He supposedly got remarried
and had more children in Texas. If anyone can help me I
would greatly be appreciated. I have looked in the
census and find no record of him. Thanks
