    I am looking for the descendants of the following lines, Georgia Ann HOWERTON        born 26 Jul 1854, Itawamba County, MS; died 27 Nov       1920 in Oklahoma; m. 15 Jul 1873 in Lee County, MS,       Stephen T. KENNEDY, born 6 Jan 1849; died        11 Dec 1926. About 1892 they moved to the Indian        Territory (Oklahoma). They reportedly had 12 children. Ellen A. (Nellie) HOWERTON        born about 1858 in Itawamba Co., MS; m. 4 Nov       1878, Lee Co., MS, James Monroe BURKS. They        moved to Poteau, Le Flore Co., IT (OK) about 1891,        and later settled in Antlers, Pushmataha Co., OK.        Nellie and Jim reportedly had 7 children. M. Laura (Dollie) HOWERTON       born 1864, Itawamba Co., MS; m. 19 Aug 1882,       Lee Co., MS, John AKIN.  Reportedly       the Akin family moved       to Commerce and Paris, TX.       Dollie and John reportedly had 8 children. Sallie Eula HOWERTON         born 1870, Lee Co., MS; d. unk.; m. 11 Nov 1888,         Lee Co., MS,  Jess S. WATSON, born 1867. Sallie         and Jess' children are unknown at this time.     Looking for information on: William LACKEY (b: 25 Dec 1823 in SC; died 24 Jan 1898 in Pontotoc Co, MS. He married Sarah BRYANT (b: Jul 12 1822 in SC; died 23 Jul 1896 Pontotoc Co, MS)on 2 Jul 1846 in Benton Co (now Calhoun, AL) Both are supposed to be buried in Locust Hill Cemetery. William Lackey was the first white man to buy land in Pontotoc Co, Miss. There is supposed to be a written will in MS for him. Does anyone have any earlier information on him or his wife? I would like a copy of their death certificates, land purchase, newspaper articles, ancestors, family histories. How do I go about writing for the land purchase records? Happy to see your webpage.     Need help with John L. Mathis (Mathews) listed in 1850 census of Pontotoc Co, MS with wife Martha Bailey & children Edmund, Joseph, Augustus, Sarah & Mary. Family also listed in 1860 Tippah Co, MS & 1870 Lafayette Co, MS. Need parents of John L. or Martha & any brothers or sisters. William B. Mathis is probably brother to John L.. Edmund, Joseph & Augustus left for war & never heard from. No record found of deaths. Would like to hear from anyone that descends from either of these sons if there were any. I believe James to be son of John LUMPKINS of McNairy Co. Tenn. who died ca 1860, and grandson of Robert and Elizabeth (FOREST) LUMPKINS who were born in Va. migrated to area of Knoxville, Tenn. and finally to Wayne County, Indiana.     James A Porter and Mary A Porter children Neal, Mack, John A., and William D. This is listed on a 1870 Henderson Co. census record Mary and the children are listed as being born in Ms. their last three children are listed as being born in Texas. One of the children James Walker Porter is my husbands great grandfather. He was adopted at the age of 18 months here in Henderson Co. Tx. Can't find any more information on James A and Mary.     I am looking for information on my ggGrandparents, Stephen G. and Margaret(Burks) Harmon. They moved from Genery's Gap, Shelby Cty., Al. ca.1844. They had at least 11 children, Lydia(1840); Martin V.B.(1842); Sarah(1846);John(1848); Rebbecca J.(1850);Wm. R.(1854); Joseph(1856); Loucanda(Candy)(1859); Gilbert (1861); Wright(1854); Malinda O.(1868). Loucanda, my g-Grandmother married Thomas R. White. He cane to Pontotoc from Barren Cty., Ky. abt. 1880. I beleive Thomas' brother Michael also came to Pontotoc, but I don't know for sure. Michael would have been the oldest son of "Irish" John White (born County Cork, Ireland abt. 1814.) and Susannah Browning. Any information on either of these families would be greatly appreciated. Have other info to share.

    I have moved to a new email. I am looking for information on the Webb, Sexton, Vaughan families. The Sextons were from Pontotoc Miss. From where my granmother Lillie Lowrey was born. Her mother was Martha J. Sexton and her father was Thomas Lowrey. I have no other information about where they came from. I am also looking for information on Littleberry Vaughan who married Sally Sarah Strickland. His father came from Chico Texas. I have lots of information on the Strickland side but not too much on the Vaughans, although I do know of a cousin in Shannon, MS. So please let me know if anyone has any info. Thanks, Linda

    I am interested in learning the parents of Norman N Jones, and any other data on this person. He is shown on the 1850 Pontotoc census as being 27 yrs., born in VA. He married Susan A Reaves in Shelby Co TN in 1848. Their issue: Monroe b 1850, James b 1852, Sarah b ca 1853, George b ca 1856, Burton b ca 1858. Sarah m. William H MORGAN ca 1872. . Norman must have died about Sep or Oct 1860, as he appears on the probate for Susan.s father in Sep, but does not appear on census w/the family taken in Oct.. Susan married Samuel Pool(e) in 1863.     I am currently searching for information about my grandparent's family. My grandfather was James Hershel Owen b.12/10/1907 in Pontotoc; his parents were John Owen and Pearl Owen(my mother thinks Pearl may have been 1/2 indian). I know he had 3 siblings (Myrtis,Troy,and Roy) I desperately need info on his parents lineage. ALSO, my grandmother Sybil Odell Huffstickler Owen was born 11/18/1914 in New Albany (Pleasant Hill).Her parents were Lena Young and Samuel Edgar Huffstickler. I would appreciate any information on their parents Mollie Tennessee Robbins?/Madison Young and JB Huffstickler/ Havanna Carlile. All the family is buried in Pleasant Hill Cemetary excepting my grandparents. If anyone has any knowledge of any of these ancestors, please contact me.     Seeking information on Valentine Barry ORR, b. 1826 KY, married 1852 in MS to Mary Jackson MAULDIN, b. 1836 in MS. They lived in Pontotoc Co. MS in the 1860�s and 70�s. Valentine served in Confederate 41st MS infantry, Company F. They migrated to Milam Co TX in the 1880�s. Both are buried in Rockdale, Milam Co. TX.
