Kemper County MS GenWeb

Part of the USGenWeb

Mason, W. J.

The following written statement was found in the record of W. J. Mason:

"The records show that on Sept. 30, 1864, this company served as a part of Mabry's Cav. Brigade under the command of Brig. Gen. Wirt Adams, district north of Homochitto in the dept. of Ala., Miss. and east La., Lieut. Gen. Richard Taylor, CSA, commanding.

Any records in this office showing the activities of these commands probably were published in the Union and Confederate armies, which publication is to be found in most large public libraries.

A copy of this work has been furnished to the Geo. H. Thomas, G. A. R. Post at Dallas, Texas."
