Need information on Andrew [J.?] SMITH, b. ca. 1849 AL, m. Mary BATEMAN (b. ca. 1855 MS, dau. of Charles and Missouri K. BATEMAN). Known children: Thomas (b. 1878 Union Co.). Andrew came into ownership of at least part of Charles Bateman's farm, few miles east of Cornersville (Marshall Co.), in 1888 and sold at least part of property in 1896. What is fate of Smith family?

His father was Issiah or Isiah COBB, b. abt. & mother____ ???? COOLHORN. Mary Ann's parents were Sam MONTGOMERY b. abt. 1805-1825 & Rebecca/Rachael? CALDWELL. I am researching the James and Elizabeth McCay/McKay Dickerson line. They came from Greenville Dist., S.C. about 1842 to Tippah Co., MS. Their son Charles Pinkney Dickerson was my gg grandfather. John N. m. Jane A. E. (Guyton?) lived in the southern part of old Tippah Co. which became Union Co. in 1870. Charles m. Martha Emily Persons about 1856 and moved to Chickasaw Co. by 1880. Almost all Dickersons in Tippah and Union Co. Ms. were descendants of James and Elizabeth who are buried in Wells Chapel Cemetery in Union Co. Daughter Sarah m. Steven Ford. I can't find Charles after 1880 but Martha was in Tupelo, Lee Co. in the 1910 census. Any help greatly appreciated.

I am interested in John (Johnny) and Annie ROBERTS who would have born in the 1870's. John Roberts was a sheriff in Union County around 1928. Their Children : Charley ROBERTS m Thellamae - son J.D. Roberts still lives in New Albany. Jewell ROBERTS m -Dyess son John Loma Dyess, Yule Roberts , Clark Roberts, Ruby Roberts m Jack Hallmark, Renee Roberts m -Miller, Myrtle Clyde Roberts m Vernon Rowe West three sons John Richard West, Ray West and Hugh West. Vernon West worked for the railroad and they lived in Jackson, Tn. They may have had other children.

James H. married 1st Nancy GARDNER 1866 in Pontotoc Co; 2nd to Mary Ann CODY SANDLIN widow of Mr. Sandlin. She had one son Joe Claborne, two daughters, Viola and Luella. Daughters married into Holmes and Dickey families. James and Nancy had 2 sons and one daughter; John b. 1870 in Pontotoc, Dora Caroline b 1878 m. Dan McLarty, Ben F. b.ca. 1885 in Pontotoc. Ben m. However, when Sallie married in Ellis Co., TX in 1891 her name was listed as JOHNSON. Did she marry a JOHNSON in Union Co.? She married Charles DIXON in Ellis Co. Did a DIXON family travel with them across Mississippi? The children of Fannie and John were Percy Lee, born 1886 in Hinds Co., MS, Mamie, b 1887, in Hinds Co., James E. b 1889 in Hinds or Lee Co., MS, Magnolia, b 1893 in Lee or Hinds Co.,MS. I'm looking for any information on the family or relatives of Hiram SPENCER and his wife, Nancy MEDLEY. Hiram was born in South Carolina in 1808. At some time he had moved to Tennessee, where he married his first wife, name unknown, and had 2 sons, Matthew (b.1835)and William (b.1838). In late 1838 or early 1839, he moved to Ittawamba co. Mississippi where he married Nancy MEDLEY on 09 January 1839. They were also in the Tupelo,Lee co. area and the New Albany, Union/Pontotoc co. area. They had the following children: George R.
