Notes for Brown:
The family story is that this un-named Brown is the son of Albert Gallatian Brown, grandson of David M. Brown and great grandson of James Brown and Martha Gallman. Further research does not support this.

Notes for Elizabeth Ratcliff:
The family story is that she is the daughter of Lemuel Washington Ratcliff and Martha Jane and also the aunt of Lemuel Washington Ratcliff. Cannot verify this. It is also said that she moved from SC to Lauderdale County in 1830. No explanation of why she had a child after that date named Brown.

The family story is that Pharaba is the daughter of Adeline Tadlock or the granddaughter of a Tadlock. After further research we believe that her full name is Adeline Pharaba Hendrick, and she is the daughter of Gustavus Hendrick and Elvira Melton. It was also said that Pharaba was at least 1/2 Creek Indian, but we cannot verify this.
