Spinks, Wallace

by K. Bernstein

Information on Spinks ancestors. We have Wallace Spinks and Mary Lucille Spinks [photos]. Wallace was the brother of Presley Spinks who was the grandfather of Mary Lucille. She was my grandmother. Her father was Peter Kelley Spinks. All were born in Mississippi, I believe.
Here are some others. Mary Spinks married Tom White and they are buried in Elmo, Texas. Mary was the sister of Wallace. In the group photo there is from left to right – Tom White, Molly (Mary Spinks), Pearl L. Spinks, and Minnie; in front Charles Rawlins (son of Lucille Spinks) and Wallace Spinks with the hat on. Presley and Rachael Ann Mosely Spinks moved to Kaufman, TX around 1875 and the family grew from there. Wallace and Pearl L. Spinks moved to Texas and from there to Los Angeles around 1885. The Mosely family also were from Kemper, MS and they go way back as do the Spinks family to the early days of this country. William Mosely came around 1650 to Virginia.
