Looking for two Sprouse brothers, Dwight and Finess. Finess Rowland Sprouse was born July 10, 1880 and died October 16, 1946. He married Delia Brazzle December 16, 1901 in Water Valley. Delia died May 11, 1881. Finess then married Frances Ashmore. Frances died November 9, 1962. Finess and his two wives are buried at Oddfellows Cemetery in Grenada. Finess had one son, Juel C. Sprouse, who was living at Hallieville, AL when Frances died. Dwight L. Sprouse was born April 3, 1882 in Pontotoc Co., MS and died May 5, 1964. He married Jesse V. Whitten. Jesse died July 9, 1991. According to his obituary, Dwight had one son, Dwight L. Sprouse, Jr. who lived at Charleston and two daughters, Mrs. C. W. Ellenbourgh of Southhaven, MS and Mrs. Harrison Tribble of Charleston. Dwight and his son are both buried at Oddfellows Cemetery in Grenada. A Dwight L. Sprouse married Bessie Lorene Mullins February 3, 1940 in Tallahatchie County. I don't know which Dwight this is. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Am searching for descendents of my great Uncle, Dr. Edward E. MCLENDON who was practicing in Teasdale as late as 1891. His brother, my Grandfather, John Bradford McLendon left the area for Kansas City at the end of the 1870s. Family references identify the home as at a place called "Marsh Beat" in either Tallahatchie Co. or Panola Co. Will appreciate any information.

I am looking for any records that may name the slaves of Kinchen and Nancy Knight Mayo. Nancy's father Willis Knight of Edgecombe Co. NC willed (in 1846) that some of his slaves be sent to Nancy in MS. I think one of the slaves is my ancestor. Please help. Thank you.

Cordie Walker cord53@msn.com My maternal grand-parents,Adkin and Arkie Taylor were from the Levette area in Tallahatchie County. They were the parents of Ada, Alma, Buford, Cordie, Connie, Corrine, Elijah, Eula or Ula, Maggie, and Mary Taylor. I have no idea of my grand-parenst's parents name, but would like to know who they were and where they were from. It was said that my grandfather, Adkin was brougt to Tallahatchie Co. from Virginia as a Fitzgerald.
