Henderson Madison Walsh , born in 1811, served as a the Captain of Company E, of the 35th Regiment of the Mississippi Infantry of the CSA. His brother, James Franklin Walsh, served as a 1st Sergeant in the 35th Regiment, Company E, of the Mississippi Infantry, CSA. Captain Walsh's son, Thomas Benton Walsh, born about 1841, served as a 2nd Lieutenant of Company E, of the 35th Infantry Regiment, CSA. Captain Walsh was killed at Vicksburg, June 3, 1863. James Franklin and Thomas Benton Walsh fought at the Battle of Franklin where they took part in the deepest penetration of the Union lines.
