Enlisted 12 Mar 1862 in Co. D, 36th Reg. MS Volunteers. Enlisted in Meridian by Capt. J. S. Tatom. Wounded at Corinth, MS October 13, 1862. Captured Jul 4, 1863 at the Siege of Vicksburg. Paroled Nov 6, 1863. Wounded (bullet entering & exiting chest) and treated at Ocmulgee Hospital, Macon GA August 19, 1864 as a Sgt Co D 36th Reg. Captured Apr 9, 1865 and on Apr 15, 1865 Roll of Prisoners of War at Ship Island, MS. Transferred from Ship Island, MS to Vicksburg, MS May 1, 1865.
