in the Probate Court of Holmes County - at the December Term 1847.
By Virtue of an execution in the above
stated case, to me directed, from the Clerk of the Probate Court of Holmes
County - I did, on the 14th day of December 1847 bring the same, on a negro
woman named Cill and her infant child and after having given due and legal
Notice, according to Law, did on the 7th day of February 1848 - offer and expose
to Public sale, before the Court house door, in the Town of Carrollton, within
the time prescribed by law, the said Negro woman & child: Then & there
Sarah Calhoun having the highest best bidder for the Same, at the Sum of Six
hundred & thirty six Dollars, became the purchaser thereof. Therefore, I,
James Collins, sheriff of Carroll County - by virtue of the sanctioned in and
vested by law, have this day sold and transferred for the said sum of Six
hundred & thirty six dollars to the said Sarah Calhoun, all the rights,
titles and claims of the said Defendants, as admrs or otherwise, had owned, or
possessed to the said Negro woman Cill, and her infant child, To have and to
hold the Same, to her & her heirs forever. In witness whereof I have
hereunto set my hand seal, at Carrollton, the 7th day of Feby. 1848.

Personally appeared before me, Samuel
Hart, Clerk of the Probate Court of said County - James Collins, above named,
and acknowledged, that he signed, sealed, & delivered the foregoing Bill of
Sale as his act and deed, as Sheriff of Carroll County on the day of the date
thereof.
