Welcome to Grenada County, Mississippi, a part of the MSGenWeb and USGenWeb Project to provide free, on-line genealogical resources. Grenada County is located in North Central Mississippi approximately 100 miles south of Memphis, Tennessee and 100 miles north of the State Capital in Jackson, Mississippi.

My name is Sandy Ward and I am the new County Coordinator for Grenada County. I have recently taken over this site from long-time coordinator, Dorian Jeferson, and want to thank her for all of her contributions to this site and Special Projects for MSGenWeb.

While I am not from Mississippi originally, I have lived south of the Mason-Dixon line for 30 years! I am a long-time genealogist and have been gathering and documenting my own family history for many years (www.sandysfamilytree.com). I live in Montgomery County which adjoins Grenada County and work close to the courthouse. I hope to be able to add new information to this site and am always open for suggestions for the type of information those of you researching in Grenada County would like to see.
