Services held for Olin Seay in New Hebron
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon from New Hebron Baptist Church for Olin Seay, 86, of New Hebron, who died Friday night at Simpson County Hospital in Mendenhall where he had been admitted earlier in the day. Rev. Jimmie Wood and Rev. M. T. Truman officiated and interment followed in the New Hebron Cemetery with Saulters Funeral Home in charge.
Pallbearers were Robert McGuffee, John Wilson, Henry Riley, Bill McCallum, Myron Lee, Berry Lane, Robert Fleming and Eugene Myers.
Mr. Seay was a native of Rankin County but had resided in New Hebron most of his life where he was in business for 64 years. He attended school in Wesson, at Mississippi State University, and was a graduate of Pharmacy school at Macon, Georgia. He had served as alderman in New Hebron, was a Mason, a Shriner, and a member of the New Hebron Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ina Walker Seay, one daughter, Mrs. Pat Shivers of New Hebron; five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, one brother, Ed Seay of Hansboro; one sister, Mrs. George Peterson of St. Petersburg, Fla.
