John Parker

Monticello, Miss., April 17

Lawrence county relatives mourn the untimely death of John Parker, 35, highly respected farmer of the Carmel community near this place who died at his home after a critical illness of a few days' duration.

Funeral services were held at the Bethel Baptist church three miles south of this place with Rev. D. O. Horne, his pastor, in charge, assisted by Rev. L. M. Sharp, local Methodist pastor. Interment was in the Bethel cemetery with the Hartman Company of Brookhaven in charge.

Besides his wife, who was formerly Miss Alice Hedgepeth, member of a well known Lawrence county family, Mr. Parker is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Parker of Carmel, a sister, Mrs. Vivian Mizell of that place and another sister, Mrs. Ethel Grimes of Grapeland, Miss.
