Funeral services for Chester King, 76, of Monticello were held Thursday at 2 o'clock at Carmel Baptist Church.

Mr. King died Tuesday night at the Lawrence County Hospital. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Carmel Baptist Church.

Rev. Mike Sutton was in charge of service, assisted by Rev. Phil Walker and Rev. Tal- madge Smith. Burial was in the Allen Cemetery with the Lawrence County Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ida King of Monticello; two sons, Denton King of Monticello and Carroll King of Thibodeaux La.; one brother, Preston King of Monticello, and a sister Mrs. Isabelle Hyde of Monticello; 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were John Paul King, Charles Hyde, Willard King, Cary Ballard, Alton King, and Ford Thames.
