Doris Marie McCoy Blackwell passed from this life on October 3, 2018, of natural causes at her home in Lumberton, Texas.

Mrs. Blackwell was born on November 22, 1939, in Stanley, Va., to John Glendon McCoy and Rachel Cubbage McCoy.

Preceding her in death are her parents, John Glendon McCoy and Rachel Cubbage McCoy of Stanley, Va.; son Glynn Blackwell Jr. of Monticello, Miss.; daughter Shari Blackwell of Monticello, Miss.; and one granddaughter.

She is survived by her husband, Glynn Blackwell of Lumberton, Texas; son Rodney Blackwell and wife Debra of Monticello, Miss.; daughter Shelia Soileau and husband Shannon of Lumberton, Texas; son John Blackwell and wife Jackie of Cypress, Texas; four siblings, John McCoy and wife Sandra of Stanley, Va., Peggy Wimer and husband Howard of White Post, Va., Maxine Bennet and husband Lindy of Jeffersontown, Va., and Ruby Morrison and husband Lyle of Bentonville, Va.; five grandsons and seven granddaughters.
