her
husband RUFUS KING PICKETT, all of Yazoo Co., MS. In 1835, M.A.

Wilkinson
Co., MS. The M.A. Jenkins family was enumerated in the 1840, 1850, and
1860 Census of Yazoo Co. Data from the 1850 and 1860 Census indicate
that
eight children were born from this marriage: ELEANOR C., GEORGE C.,
MARY
E., CARTER, SARAH, FRANCES, AUGUSTUS, and ROSELLA. The mother Rosalie
died
at the Jenkins residence at Yazoo City in 1853. M.A. Jenkins was shown
to be County Treasurer in 1850 and Clerk of the Circuit Court in 1860.
As yet, I have been unable to find the M.A. Jenkins family in the 1870

children.
I would like very much to know more about this family and their

James Madison from Memphis m. Unknown from Yazoo county. They had
at least one child, Walter Scott Madison born about 1850 and died about
1925 in Belzoni area of Humphreys county. Unknown divorced James and
James
returned to Memphis, remarried and is thought to have more children.
Unknown
wife remained in Yazoo - Belzoni area. Walter Scott Madison first
married
a Cobb who died in childbirth, then married Ida Mae Hamilton Upchurch,
a widow thought to be from Yazoo County. She had two children, Nora and
Claude. Together they had Pauline, Edward Henry, and (?)Brewer. Ida Mae
died in a hospital in Memphis about 1928. Edward Henry Madison is my
grandfather
and he died in 1933 in Clay county. It is thought Walter and Ida Mae
lived
north of Belzoni in a community known as Jaytown, Jaketown, or
something
similiar. Buried in Belzoni cemetary is an Annie Madison, born 1899 and
died 1913, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Madison. Is this the same
Madisons?
Edward married Roxie Mae Young from Clay county in 1917 in this area.
She
was visiting her uncle Tom Young who owned a store in this community. I
am having a terrible time trying to find anything about the Madisons
who
lived somewhere near Belzoni. I don't know whether to look in Yazoo,

Looking for info on My great great grandfather Seaborn Moses
Phillips'
family from YazooCo, Ms. My grandmother said that Moses' brother
William
died at Buena Vista. Are there any records of this? Other brothers were
Andrew and Handley B. Phillips. Moses' sister, Rebecca Julia Ann
Phillips
married Richard L. Dixon - a judge, but I'm not sure in which county.
After
the Civil War the Dixons moved to California with Laura Phillips,
Moses'
daughter. I'm not sure of the date though. Moses' father was James
Phillips.
He died in August 30, 1838. Unfortunately I'm not sure of his middle
initial
to determine if he owned property in Yazoo County. I have references to
James having died in Jackson, MS which comes from my grandmother out of
the Phillips family Bible. His father was also James from South
Carolina,
but I do not have a birth date nor any other info. Moses Phillips wife
was Emily Cushman Walker. The Walkers owned a plantation near Canton,
MS.
I would be interested if there is any mention of the William Walker
family
in Yazoo County. I doubt there will be. Any information would be

appreciated.
