After divine worship on Saturday before the 4th Sunday in July, 1865, met in conference.

1st - inquired for Peace - all in peace.
2nd - opened a door for the reception of members - received none. The Church called on Brother J. B. Huddleston and Brother H. T. Rowland for a presbytery and agreed to go into the ordination of Brother Starling Daniel on tomorrow morning. Brother H. T. Rowland requested the Church to release him from being their pastor and a letter of dismission for himself and his wife. He was released, also a letter of dismission was granted. The Church and the presbytery as above named, J. B. Huddleston and H. T. Rowland met and ordained Brother Starling Daniel to the ministry.

After divine worship on Saturday before the 4th Sunday in July, 1866, met in conference. Brother S. Daniel, Moderator, inquired for Peace. Called for reference, Sister Davety was excluded from us. Opened a door for the reception of members - received Sister Cyrena Jones by letter. Appointed Brother S. Daniel, M. H. Higgins to see Brother Joel Dodds against next conference. Dismissed in order.

Rowland and his wife, Margaret Rowland by letter. Also received E. J. Daugherty by letter. Next meeting the communion and washing feet.

After divine services on Saturday before the 4th Sunday in August, 1867, met in conference. Brother H. T. Rowland, Moderator, found the Church in Peace. Opened a door for the reception of members - received experience and baptism Mary Luna and Brethren Thomas Rowland, Benjamin Butler, C. C. Thornton, Bray Prince called for letter of dismission was granted, Ordered the Clerk to prepare a letter to send to the Association to be read at next meeting. Agreed to attend communion and washing feet next meeting.

After divine worship on Saturday before the 4th Sunday in September, 1867, met in conference. Brother H. T. Rowland, Moderator, found the Church in Peace. Opened a door for the reception of members. Received Melly Butler by experience and baptism. Also, received Julyan Butler by experience and baptism. A letter to be sent to the Association was read and received. Appointed brethren to bear the same: Elder S. Daniel, Elder H. T. Rowland, M. H. Higgins. Tomorrow is communion and feet washing.

After divine services on Saturday before the 4th Sunday in October, 1867, met in conference. Brother S. Daniel, Moderator.

3rd - Invited visiting brethren to seat with us.

After divine worship on Saturday before the 4th Lord's Day in November, 1867, the Church at New Salem met in conference. Brother Daniel, Moderator, all in peace. Agreed to appoint Brethren Rowland and Higgins a committee to see Sister Jones and know the reason why she does not attend meetings.

After divine worship on Saturday before 4th Sunday in December, 1867, met in conference. All in peace. Opened the door for members. Received Sister Ruthie Higgins by letter then took up the case of Sister Jones and excluded her for poor attendance at meetings. Adjourned in order.

After divine worship on Saturday before the 4th Lord's day in January, 1868, met in conference. Brother Daniel, Moderator, inquired for fellowship - all in peace. Opened the door for the reception of members - received none.

After divine worship on Saturday before the 4th Lord's day in February, 1868, the church at New Salem met in conference, Brother Rowland, Moderator. All in peace, opened the door for the reception of members - received none. Adjourned in order.

After divine worship on Saturday before the 4th Lord's day in May, 1868, church met in conference. Brother Rowland, Moderator, inquired for fellowship - all in peace. Opened the door for members - received none. The Church then agreed to set apart Brother B. C. Butler and C. C. Thornton to be ordained Deacons of said Church. Also appointed Brother Daniel and Rowland as Presbytery to ordain these brethren tomorrow morning. The Church then adjourned.

Opened the door for the reception of members - received none. The Church then appointed Delegates to the Union Meeting: Elder H. T. Rowland, Elder S. Daniel, Brother G. W. Rowland and Brother B. C. Butler.

At a regular meeting on Saturday before the 4th Lord's day in August, 1868, the New Salem Church met in conference. Brother Daniel inquired for fellowship - peace being manifested. Opened the door for the reception of members - received none. The Church then appointed Delegates to the Association, Elder H. T. Rowland, Elder S. Daniel, Brethren B. C. Butler and G. W. Rowland. Also granted Sister Martha Dodds and Sister Tabitha Clifton letters of dismissal and appointed Brother Daniel and Brother Thornton a committee to wait upon Brother J. M. Dodds and report to the Church. (This page is so faded, I hope this is a correct translation.)

After divine worship on Saturday before the 4th Lord's Day in September, 1868, the Church at New Salem met in conference. Inquired for fellowship - all in peace. Opened the door for the reception of members - received none. Application being made took by Sister Cyrena Jones, considered her case but defined a decision. Read the letter to the Association and adopted it. On Sunday received Sister Winny Hobson by Experience and Baptist.

At a regular meeting in January, 1869, the Church met at New Salem in conference. Brother Daniel, Moderator, inquired for fellowship - all in Peace. Opened the door for members - received none.

After divine worship by Brother Gaugh and Daniel on Saturday before the 4th Lord's Day in March, 1869, Church met in conference. Brother Daniel, Moderator, inquired for fellowship - all in Peace. Opened the door for the reception of members - received none. Then took Sister Cyrena Jones case in consideration and agreed to cancel her name from our proceedings. Adjourned in order.

After divine worship on Saturday before the 4th Lord's Day in May, 1869, the Church met in conference. Brother H. T. Rowland, Moderator, inquired for fellowship - all in Peace. Opened the door for members - received Brother H. H. A. Alexander by experience and baptism. The Church then adjourned.

After divine worship on Saturday before the 4th Lord's Day in June, 1869, met in conference. Brother H. T. Rowland, Moderator, inquired for fellowship - all in Peace. Opened the door for members - no application being made. The Church then considered the conduct together with reports of Sister Landsdale and appointed Brethren S. Daniel and M. H. Higgins a committee to visit her.

After divine worship on Saturday before the 4th Lord's Day in July, 1869, the Church met in conference. Brother H. T. Rowland, Moderator, inquired for fellowship - all in Peace. Opened the door for members - received none. Then called for reference: Sister Landsdale's case was presented and she not being present, the church agreed to continue her case to our next meeting. Also appointed Messengers to Union Meeting to wit: Elder H. T. Rowland, Brethren C. C. Thornton, B. C. Butler, and H. H. Alexander.

After divine worship on Saturday before the 4th Lord's Day in August, 1869, met in conference. Brother Daniel, Moderator, inquired for fellowship - all in peace. Opened the door for members - received none. Then considered Sister Landsdale's case and deferred it to our next meeting. On Sunday, received Brother J. A. Rowland by experience and baptism.

After divine worship on Saturday before the 4th Lord's Day in September, 1869, the Church met in conference. Brother Daniel, Moderator, inquired for fellowship - all in peace. Read the rules of our faith and then opened the door for members where upon Brother M. W. Jones and Sister Eareline Rowland were received by experience and baptism. Read the letter to the Association and appointed Brethren B. C. Butler, M. H. Higgins, G. W. Rowland and H. H. A. Alexander, alternate to bear the same; also contributed $3.00 for the printing of the minutes of the Association. Then considered Sister Landsdale's case and excluded her.

After divine worship on Saturday before the 4th Sunday in November, 1869, met in conference. Brother Daniel, Moderator, inquired for fellowship - all in peace. Opened the door for members - received none. Sunday, also set in conference and Sister Samirah Treas, having been dismissed from this Church by letter some years ago, and lost it - applied for a second letter and it was granted.

After divine worship on Saturday before the 4th Sunday in January, 1870, met in conference. Brother Daniel, Moderator, inquired for fellowship - all in peace. Opened the door for members - received none.

After divine worship on Saturday before the 4th Sunday in February, 1870, met in conference. Inquired for fellowship - all in peace. Opened the door for members - received none. Opened the doors for members - received Sister Sarah Rowland by experience and baptism. Then agreed to take the sacrament and wash feet, which was attended to on the following day.

Opened the door for members - received none. Then appointed Brethren delegates to the Union Meeting to be held at Antioch meeting house on Friday before the 2nd Sunday in August, 1870. Delegates appointed were Elder H. T. Rowland, Elder Sterling Daniel, Brethren M. H. Higgins, and H. H. Alexander. Then being no further business before the Church, we adjourned.

After divine worship on Saturday before the 4th Sunday in September, 1870, the Church met in conference. Brother H. T. Rowland, Moderator,

1st - inquired for fellowship and found all in peace.
2nd - Opened the door for members - received none. Then proceeded to appoint delegates to the Association to be held with Pleasant Hill Church, Tippah County, Miss., commencing on Friday before the 2nd Sunday in October, 1870, which resulted in the appointment of Elder H. T. Rowland and Brethren M. H. Higgins, C. C. Thornton and M. W. Jones. $1.50 was then agreed upon as sufficient contribution for minutes of the Association. Dismissed Sister Winny Hobson by letter.

After divine worship by Brother Jackson on Saturday before the 4th Sunday in October, 1870, met in conference. The Church appointed Brother Jackson, Moderator pro-tem, the pastor being absent. Inquired for fellowship - all in peace. Opened the door for members - received none. Then appointed Brethren M. H. Higgins and J. A. Rowland to confer with Brother B. C. Butler and report the reason why he does not attend Church conference.

After divine worship on Saturday before the 4th Sunday in November, 1870, met in conference. Inquired for fellowship - all in peace. Brother B. C. Butler then arose and explained the reason of his attendance at church conference, which was received as excused and freely forgiven, then opened the door for members - received none. Elder H. T. At a stated meeting on Saturday before the 4th Sunday in May, 1871, New Salem Church met.

2nd - Sat in conference, Brother Rowland, Moderator, found the church in fellowship.
3rd - Opened the door for members whereupon Sister Harriett Bishop was received by letter from State Line Church, Tippah County, Miss.

At a stated meeting on Saturday before the 4th Sunday in June, 1871, New Salem Church met.

1st - Services by Brethren L. H. Jimerson and M. S. Jackson.
2nd - Sat in conference as Brother Rowland, Moderator, found the Church in fellowship.
3rd - Opened the door for members, whereupon Sister Elizabeth M. Riter presented a letter from Enon Church and was received. Also, Sister Elizabeth A. Davis and Melindia Shelton were received by experience and baptism.

At a stated meeting on Saturday before the 4th Sunday in July, 1871, New Salem Church met.

1st - services by Brethren Jimerson, Daniel, and Rowland.
2nd - Sat in conference, Brother H. T. Rowland, Moderator, found the Church in fellowship.
3rd - Opened the door for members whereupon Sister Jane Daugherty presented herself and was received by ??.
4th - Appointed delegates to Union Meeting: Elders H. T. Rowland,
S. Daniel, Brethren C. C. Thornton and J. A. Rowland as alternate.

At a stated meeting in August, 1871, New Salem Church met in conference. Brother Rowland, Moderator, called for fellowship - all in peace. Opened the door for members - received none.

At a stated meeting in September, 1871, the Church met in conference, Elder Daniel, Moderator.

1st - Called for fellowship - all in peace.
2nd - Opened the door for members - received none.
3rd - Appointed delegates to the Association: Elders Rowland and Daniel, Brethren B. C. Butler and C. C. Thornton, alternate.
4th - Sunday, again opened the door for members, received Sister Bethany Higgins.

2nd - Sat in conference, Brother Jackson, Moderator.
3rd - Inquired for fellowship - all in peace.
4th - Opened the doors for members - received none.

On Saturday before the 4th Sunday in November, 1871, the Church met.

1st - Services by Brethren Jimerson, Daniel and Rowland.
2nd - Sat in conference, Brother Rowland, Moderator, inquired for fellowship - all in peace.
3rd - Opened the door for members - received none.
4th - Granted Brother Daniel a letter of dismission and also released him from the pastoral care of the Church by his request. Adjourned in order.

On Saturday before the 4th Sunday in December, 1871, the Church met.

1st - Services by Elder H. T. Rowland.
2nd - Sat in conference. Inquired for fellowship - all in peace.
3rd - Opened the door for members - received none.
4th - Chose Brother H. T. Rowland, pastor of the Church.

On Saturday before the 4th Lord's Day in March, 1872, the Church met.

1st - Services by the pastor.
2nd - Sat in conference. Brother Rowland inquired for fellowship - all in peace.
3rd - Opened the door for members - received none.

On Saturday before the 4th Sunday in April, 1872, the Church met.

1st - Services by Brethren Jimerson, Daniel and Rowland.
2nd - Sat in conference. Brother Daniel, Moderator found all in peace.
3rd - opened the door for members whereupon Sister Elizabeth Colyer was received by letter. Also on Sunday following, Sister Winny Hobson who had been a member with us but had drawn a letter of dismission from us, returned it and was received back into the fellowship of the Church.

On Saturday before the 4th Sunday in May, 1872, the Church met.

1st - Services by Brethren S. Daniel and H. T. Rowland.
2nd - Sat in conference. Brother Rowland, Moderator, found the Church all in peace.
3rd - Opened the door for members, received none.
Adjourned until Sunday when a door was opened for members whereupon Brother James Colyer came forward and was received into the fellowship of the Church by experience.

On Saturday before the 4th Sunday in June, 1872, the Church met.

1st - Services opened by Brother Jimerson, preaching by the pastor and Brother Daniel.
2nd - Sat in conference, Brother Rowland, Moderator, found the Church in peace.
3rd - Opened the door for members whereupon Brother B. F. Davis was received by letter; also, Sister Fredonia Porter by experience and baptism. Also on Sunday following a door was again opened whereupon Sister Tabitha Miller came forward and was received by a relation of her experience.

On Saturday before the 4th Sunday in July, 1872, the Church met.

1st - Services by Brethren Jimerson, Daniel and Rowland.
2nd - Sat in conference. Brother Rowland, Moderator, found all in peace.
3rd - Opened the door for members and received Brother D. Millen by experience.

3rd - Called for fellowship and found the church in disorder. A charge was brought by Elder H. T. Rowland against Brethren C. C. Thornton and M. H. Higgins for stopping him from a discharge of his duty as pastor of the Church; which subject was discussed at some length and continued to next meeting.

Brethren and Sisters met at her regular time Saturday before the 4th Sunday in October, 1882.

1st - Services by Brethren Alexander, Butler and Rowland.
2nd - Sat in conference and appointed Brother H. H. Alexander as moderator.
3rd - Took up reference and discussed the subject at length.
4th - Moved that we sustain the deacons in their action; whereupon Elder H. T. Rowland, Brother H. H. Alexander and M. W. Jones and Sisters Eareline Rowland, E. J. Dunn, M. A. Freeman and Sarah Rowland said by word and action they would not abide the decision of the Church. Therefore they stand excluded from this Church.
5th - Moved and carried that we call Elder B. C. Butler to serve as pastor of the Church.
6th - Moved and carried that we change our meeting from 4th Sunday to the 2nd.

Sunday, the Church met and after services by Brethren Tho??, Estes and L. H. Jamieson, we commemorated the death of our Savior and washed feet as our custom has been ever since the Constitution of the Church. Elder Jamieson officiated and in conclusion there seemed to be a deep feeling by the spectators as well as the Brethren and Sisters. All singing a song together, broke up in love.

Brethren and Sisters of New Salem Church met at their regular time on Saturday before the 2nd Sunday in July, 1883. Services were by the Pastor after which the Church met in conference.

3rd - Appointed Elder B. C. Butler, Brethren M. H. Higgins and T. W. Rowland with James Colyer, alternate Messengers to the Union Meeting held at Little Hope Friday before the 4th Sunday in August.

The Church at New Salem, Tippah County, Mississippi, while in Conference on Saturday before the 2nd Sunday in September, 1891 appointed a committee to draft some words in her behalf of her high esteem and Christian love for him as a Memorial of our dear departed Brother B. C. Butler, we as a Church esteemed him as an humble and exemplary Christian and he was also an able and delightful example of the truth as it is in Christ Jesus.
We as a Church feel that our loss is great At the same time, we feel satisfied that our loss is his Eternal gain. We as a Church deeply sympathize with the heat stricken and bereaved wife and children. We truly discern that the God of all grace will take care and provide for the. The Church met according to previous arrangements on the 2nd Sunday in September, 1892. After preaching by Brethren Reed and Cox, we went into communion, with humbled selves to wash each other's feet as the Good Lord said ye ought to do and good feeling was manifested. An orderly congregation attended with good behavior and may the Lord bless each one in attendance.

On Sunday following, Church met at the water for the purpose to baptize Brother Camering and give an opportunity where upon Sister Martindale came forward and related her experience, was received and baptized. The right hand of fellowship was extended after baptizing. Returned to the meeting house and able discourse delivered by our pastor.

According to previous appointments, the Messengers from the different Churches met in Union with New Salem Church, Tippah County, Mississippi. On Friday before the 2nd Sunday in August, 1893, the introductory sermon was delivered by Brother C. F. Reed and a discourse by Brother Shirley, after which the Union was called together by Elder C. F. Reed.

3rd - Appointed a committee of arrangements for the Union Meeting as follows, the preachers to act as the committee.

5th - Called for miscellaneous business - Agreed to appoint Messengers to meet in the Association when convened with the Church at New Prospect, whereupon Brethren James Colyer, Simpson Daniel, H. H. Alexander and Brother W. E. McAlister, alternate.

On Sunday Communion day partook of the elements and washed each others feet with a good feeling and humbleness, I hope.

On the 2nd Sunday in July, 1899, New Salem Church met. Preaching by the pastor C. F. Reed, after which sat in conference.

1st - Inquired after the peace of the Church - all in peace.
2nd - Called for reference - none.
3rd - Appointed Messengers to meet with the Union Meeting where upon Brethren Simpson Daniel, W. E. McAlister was appointed.
4th - Brother H. H. Alexander requested a letter from the Church that he might join one near him in Texas. It was granted him and the Clerk ordered to write it to him. Done while in conference.

On Friday before the 2nd Sunday in August, 1899, the Union Meeting of the 2nd District met. The introductory sermon was delivered by Elder C. F. Reed, after which the Union came together and transacted the business as follows:

1st - Proceeded to elect a moderator and Clerk. Brother J. F. Weatherly was elected moderator and Brother W. C. Norton, Clerk.
2nd - Agreed for New Prospect to have the Union Meeting in 1900 and ordered Brother C. W. Estes to preach the introductory sermon, Brother C. F. Reed, alternate.
3rd - Agreed for New Salem Church to have the Association in 1900, commencing on Saturday before the 2nd Sunday in October, 1900.
4th - Minutes read and received and signed.

5th - Called for miscellaneous business - the Church thought it best that Elder James Duncan and Rev. Lowery Cambell have no debate and gives some of the reasons why She does not.

1st - Rev. Lowery is an unfair debater.
2nd - Also Rev. Lowery is not competent to debate a ??? proposition.
3rd - Also Rev. Lowery's brethren do not unanimously endorse him.
