Holy Bible made oath that the above and foregoing annual return made by him"

Know all men by these presents that we William Bird, H.O. Beasley & J.W.
Sudberry all of the County Noxubee and State of Mississippi are held and
firmley bound unto Reuben Ruff, Judge of Probates in and for said county
and his successors in the penal sum of Fourteen hundred dollars which
payment well and truly to be made we bind ourselves our heirs executors and
administrators jointly severally and firmly by these presents sealed with
our seals and dated this 4 day of December 1848.
The condition of the above obligation is such that the said William
Bird shall faithfully account with the Probates court of Noxubee County as
directed by law for the management of the property and estate of the orphans
under his care and shall also deliver up the said property agreeably to the
order of said court or the direction of law and shall in all respects
perform the duty of Guardian to the said minor heirs according to law then
the above obligation to be void otherwise to be and remain in full force
and virtue.

Know ye that William Bird has been appointed by the orphans court of
said county Guardian to F.H.--W.W.--J.W.--M.S.--& Elizabeth P. Bird, he
the said William Bird is therefore hereby authorised (sic) and required to
discharge in all respects the duties of guardian to the said person &
property of F.H.--W.W.--J.W.--M.S.--& Elizabeth P Bird his own minor
children according to law. Witness Reuban Ruff, presiding Judge of the
probate court of the county of Noxubee this the 5th day of December AD 1848.

Noxubee County : Greeting
Know ye that Alfred C. Gilmore has been appointed by orphans court
of said county Guardian to the person and estaste of Mary L. & Robert Morris
minor heirs of John S. Morris Senr deceased. He the said Alfred C. Gilmore
is therefore hereby authorised and required to discharge in all respects
the duties of guardian to the said Mary L. & Robert Morris minor children
of the said John S. Morris Senr deceased according to law.

The State of Mississippi : To Robert Greer, Arthur Slaughter &
Noxubee County : John S. Ratliff. This is to authorize you
jointly to appraise the goods chattels and personal estate of Daniel McMullen
late of Noxubee County deceased so far as the same shall come to your sight
and knowledge each of you first having taken the oath hereunto annexed a
certificate whereof you are to return annexed to an inventory of the said
goods and chattels and personal estate by you appraised in dollars and cents
and in the said inventory you are to set down in a column or columns
opposite to each artickle (sic) the value thereof.
Witness Reuben Ruff Judge of the Probates Court of the county of
Noxubee this the 4 day of December 1848.
