(This is a copy of the naturalization paper of Allan Stewart)

STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA SUPERIOR COURT OFFICE
Robinson County September Term 1813

Allan Stewart an alien and a native of the Kingdom of Great Britain appeared in open court and prayed to become a Naturalized Citizen of the United States of America and it having been made appear to the satisfaction of the Court that the said Allan Stewart migrated to the United States of America previous to the fourteenth day of April 1802 and that he has resided within the same and also that he behaved himself as a man of good moral character attached to the Constitution of the United States and well disposed to the good order and prosperity of the Same and the said Allan Stewart having taken the Several Oaths prescribed by the Act of Congress in that fare made and provided the said Allan Stewart is admitted to become a Citizen of the United States according to the Provisions of the said Act of Congress.

Witness James McQueen Clerk of the said Superior Court at Office and the seal of the said Court amended the XXXVII Year of our Independence and 28th day of September A.D. 1813.
