This is the old courthouse, built in 1870 and used until a few years before
the newer one was completed on the same spot.   The original courthouse was
destroyed by fire during the Civil War. The huge books holding all the land
records were removed from the courthouse during the war and are still
available for research today.

Located in the center of the square in Ripley, this court house was built in 1928 and is still being used today.
