Madison County
Created 1828 from Yazoo County
County Seat:  Canton


2004

There have been three courthouses in Madison County. 
The first courthouse was condemned due to deterioration of the mortar. 
The cornerstone for the second courthouse was laid in 1855. 
The current modern courthouse, one block north of the Square, was completed in 1995.
