Philadelphia Cemetery Survey

From Hwy 8, turn onto Hwy 9 and travel Hwy 9 to Hwy
404, cemetery located 2 miles south of Cadaretta, coordinates Latitude: 33.699N;
Longitude: -89.458W, a very old cemetery having been in use since
the first settlement in that section. Many honorable and worthy citizens lie
buried there, some of whom are John MOORE, a relative
of the large MOORE family. Silas WATSON, progenitor
of the WATSONs. Jeff MARTER, father of Julian and Henry. Jeff WORTHY, father of Charley. Jim Patterson, formerly of
Eupora. Also the COOPERs and many more relatives of those named and
others.
The
prominent family of DOOLITTLE
buried its loved ones at Bethel Cemetery in Calhoun County.
The survey was made from photos of tombstones in the Philadelphia Baptist Church
Cemetery, Cadaretta, Webster Co., MS. Photos were taken by Kenneth and Jackie
