Grace McAuley
Grace Towery McAuley died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 1999, at North Mississippi Medical Center. She was born Dec. 22, 1911 in Houlka to Lothaire Otho Towery and Anne Walker Towery. She was a homemaker and an elder in the Byhalia Presbyterian Church. She attended Blue Mountain College and graduated from the University of Memphis. She was a school teacher in Mississippi. She was a member of the Byhalia Garden Club and a commissioner on the Northwest Mississippi Drainage Committee. She was the widow of M. Deaton McAuley.
Services were Saturday, Oct. 23, at Byhalia Presbyterian Church with Bro. Don Wilson officiating. Burial was in Hillcrest Cemetery in Holly Springs. Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include one son, Dr. Malcolm McAuley of Tupelo; two daughters, Burney McAuley O;Steen of Metairie, La., and Janet McAuley Blue of Greensboro, N. C.; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
Jimmy McCauley
Jimmy McCauley, 59, died Tuesday, July 27; 1999, at his home in Hickory Flat. He was dis-abled- and a member of the First Baptist Church of Hickory Flat.
Services were at 2 p.m. July 29 at Waters Funeral Home Chapel in Baldwyn. Burial was in Ingram Cemetery.
Survivors include one daughter, Christine McCauley Cooper of Corinth; one son, Thomas Wayne McCauley of Blue Springs; three brothers, Johnny L. McCauley of Tupelo, Donny McCauley of New Albany and Freddie McCauley of Bentonville, Ark.; three grandchildren, Cody Cooper, and Brandon and Victoria McCauley; two step-grandchildren, Chase Fryar and Kirk Fryar.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Ann McCauley, and a sister, Betty Jean McAlister.
Vera McCoy
Vera Irene Walker McCoy, 95, died Friday, Oct. 1, 1999, at Graceland Car Center in Oxford. She was a homemaker and a member of Laodicea Primitive Baptist Church. She was the widow of Lee Roy McCoy.
Services were Monday Oct. 4, at Walker Funeral Home Chapel with Elder E. D. McCutcheon and Elder Max Ewing officiating. Burial was in Lafayette Springs Cemetery in Oxford.
Survivors include two daughters, Geneva Embry of Oxford, and Demarice Kinard of North Little Rock, Ark.; one sister, Glayds Russell of Thaxton; one brother Deane Walker of Cudahy, Wis.; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
Theron McGregor
Theron "Mac" McGregor, 62, died Sunday, Oct. 24, 1999, at Baptist Hospital-Desoto in Southaven. He was a retired sales representative and a Baptist.
A memorial service was held Wednesday, Oct. 27, at Browning Funeral Home Chapel in Pontotoc with the Rev. Jerry Guess officiating. Burial was in Guinn Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Rachel McGregor of Hernando; two sisters, Cassie Eldridge and Melesia, both of Jackson; two brothers, John McGregor of Raymond and Anthony "Bobby" McGregor of Memphis; his step-mother, Riple McGregor of Jackson; and several nieces and nephews.
Hazel McMillin
Hazel McMillin, 60, died Wednesday, Aug. 11, 1999, at the Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Center after a long illness. She ws a homemaker and a member of the Church of God of Prophecy.
Services were Thursday, Aug. 12, in the Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with the Rev. Zane Parker officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Pontotoc County.
Survivors include one son, Mike Wilson, and his wife, Joni, of Tupelo; one daughter, Pollie McMillian of Shannon; one sister, Grace Pipkin of Memphis; four grandchildren, Chad Wilson, Summer Wilson, Brittany Wilson and Aaliyah Donalson.
Margaret McPherson
Margaret McPherson, 81, died Friday, May 7, 1999, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. She was a member of New Salem M.B. Church
Services will be at 11 a.m. today at New Salem M.B. Church with the Rev. Curtis McKinney Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Agnew and Sons Funeral Home of Verona is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include four daughters, Ann McWilliam of Kalamazoo, Mich., Margarette Todd and her husband, T, of Tulsa, Okla, Luedella Lamar and her husband, Freddie, of Brandon Fla., and James Anna Franklin and her husband, Sonny, of Pontotoc; five sons, Tommie McPherson and Robert McPherson, both of Kalamazoo, Mich., and James McPherson, Jessie McPherson and his wife, Arlene, all of Wichita, Kan.; one brother, James Earl Young of Albany, N.Y.; three sisters-in-law, Luella Babbitt, Mary Ruth Young, and Saddie McPherson, all of Okolona; two brothers-in-law, Lottie Buchanan of Okolona and Willie McPherson of Wichita, Kan., 41 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.
