Mrs. Ellingburg, 65, of Philadelphia, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2001, at
Madden Memories Personal Care Home.
Survivors include two daughters, Jessie Mae Ladd and Kathy D. Ladd,
a stepson, John Ellingburg, her mother, Vestrie Pilgrim, two sisters, Margie
Jayroe and Nell Ryals, all of Philadelphia; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Ellingburg in 1996.

Mr. Forest, 82, of Oxford, formerly of Newton, died Tuesday, Dec. 18,
2001, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford. He was a member of First
Baptist Church of Newton and a veteran of World War II, serving in the
U.S. Navy.
Survivors include four daughters, Cynthia Rowell of Collierville, Tenn.,
Edith Therriot, Marie Bivalacava and Clara Mary Coldena, all of New Orleans;
two sons, Ron Forest of Newton and LeRoy Forest of New Orleans; two sisters,

Mrs. Herrington, 94, of Philadelphia, died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2001,
at Neshoba County Nursing Home. She was a retired housemother for Baptist
Children's Village in Jackson.
Survivors include her daughter, Dot McKee of Philadelphia; two grandchildren
and two great-grandchildren.
REV. M. GLENN SMITH

PHILADELPHIA -- The Rev. M. Glenn Smith, 87, died Thursday, Dec. 20,
2001, at Rest Care Hospice in Philadelphia.
Services are today at 1 p.m. at Bethsaida Baptist Church, near Philadelphia,
with burial in the church cemetery. McClain-Hays Funeral Service is in
charge of arrangements.
Rev. Smith was born Oct. 5, 1914, in Neshoba County to the late Albert
Jasper Smith and Jessie Louis Hardy Smith. He married Zudye Belle Willis
also of Neshoba County in 1936.
The Rev. Smith was ordained to the Baptist ministry at the age of 21,
by his home church Bethsaida Baptist. He graduated from House High School
in Neshoba County, Clarke Memorial Baptist College in Newton, Mississippi
College in Clinton and The New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
He pastored in Mississippi for many years, serving churches in DeKalb,
McComb and Corinth, as well as many others. He served in churches in Florida
from 1964 until returning to Mississippi in 1983. Churches served after
moving back to Philadelphia include Rock Branch Baptist Church, Union County
and Center Ridge Baptist Church in Kemper County. In addition to pastorates,
his ministry included years of serving as county missionary in both Mississippi
and Florida.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Zudye Willis Smith and four
children, the Rev. Jo Smith Hollman and her husband, Harold, of Jackson,
Zudith L. Manning Ph.D. of Philadelphia, Cheri Smith Williams NCC and her
husband, David, of Vicksburg, and Michael Glenn Smith of Philadelphia;
a sister, Maye Kimbrell of Jackson; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren
and several nieces and nephews.

of Troop 40 at Poplar Springs Drive Baptist Church, a member of Gideons
International, a Mason of the Scottish Rite and a Mason Shriner for 70
years.

C., of Marion; three grandsons, Hubert Leslie Bullock and his wife, Janice,

Mr. Marshall, 90, of Philadelphia, died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2001, at
Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Neshoba County and was a long
time Philadelphia resident. He was retired from the U.S. Department of
Agriculture. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Philadelphia.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Burgin and her husband, Bobby,
of Saraland, Ala.; two sons, Roscoe Marshall and his wife, Alice of Kingsland,
Texas, and Sam Billy Marshall and his wife, Mary Ann, of Meridian; a daughter-in-law,

Church.

Mr. Bailey, 56, a native of Meridian, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2001, in
Englewood. He served 24 1/2 years in the United States Army. He was a lieutenant
colonel.

a daughter, Michelle Solis Bailey; two brothers, Louis Joseph Bailey Jr.

Sept. 29, 2001, at Meridian Little Theater with the Rev. Davey Wilkerson
officiating.
Parents of the couple are James and Barbara McInnis Jr. and Mark and
Brenda Quinn, all of Meridian.
Grandparents of the bride are Ruby Brooks of Natchez and the late Lonnie
Davis; Betty McInnis of Meridian and the late James B. McInnis Sr.
Grandparents of the bridegroom are Bessie Betterton and the late John

Music for the ceremony was provided by Jerry and Gary Rehms, vocalists
and cousins of the bride.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a strapless
white duchess satin gown with a tulle overlay covered in lace appliques
accented with iridescent pearls and sequins. The gown was enhanced by a
chapel-length tulle train scattered throughout with lace, pearls and sequins.
Maid of honor was Candice McInnis of Meridian, sister of the bride.
Bridesmaid was Michelle Quinn of Memphis, sister of the bridegroom.
The father of the bridegroom served as best man. Groomsman was Randy
Tuggle of Meridian and Bobby Weed of Meridian served as usher.

A reception was held in the groom room at Meridian Little Theater following

65th anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Reynolds recently celebrated their 65th anniversary.
The couple was married Dec. 17, 1936, at the home of Ed Allen, justice
of the peace. They have three children, Hilda Faye Davis and her husband,
Richard, Richard Reynolds and his wife, Sheila, and Diane Jenkins and her
husband, David; seven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. The couple
resides in the Whynot Community.
50th anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. John T. Raines will celebrate their 50th anniversary with
dinner at their family home. The couple's children, John Raines, Kathy
Chandler and Recee Stewart, all of Enterprise, Betty Barton and Judy Milstead
of Whynot, will host the event. The couple was married Dec. 28, 1951, in
a double-ring ceremony with Mrs. Raines' sister, Nell, who married Mr.
Raines' brother, Herman, who died 1985. They also have eight grandchildren
and eight great-grandchildren. Mrs. Raines is the former Bonnie Faye Jordan
of Crandall.

Willie and Mary Fairchild of Collinsville celebrated their 50th anniversary
at a reception held in their honor at Bethel Methodist Church. The couple
wed Dec. 15, 1951, in Meridian. They have two children, Vickie McGrew and
her husband, Robert, and Ronnie Fairchild, all of Collinsville; two grandchildren,
Wesley McGrew of Collinsville and Jesse Fairchild of Washington. Mr. Fairchild
retired from Fruge Suburban Gas Co. Mrs. Fairchild is the former Mary Langdon.
