Heather Phillips of Meridian and Kevin Hicks of Rose Hill were married
Saturday, July 28, 2001, at Frazier Grove Church of God with the Rev. Fred
Frazier officiating.
Parents of the couple are Nancy L. Phillips and the late Billie G. Phillips,
and Sue and Irvin Cliff Hicks Jr.
Grandparents of the bride are Pauline Espey and the late Marvette Espey,
and the late Hilton and Freddie Phillips.
Grandparents of the bridegroom are Minnie Hicks and the late Irvin Cliff
Hicks, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Harman Ezell.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Jean Herrington, pianist; Bliss
Savell, flutist; Rhea Espey, Tommy Espey, Hubert Frazier and Eric Herrington,
vocalists.
The bride was given in marriage by her mother. She wore an A-line gown
enhanced with beaded spaghetti straps. Beads also edged the neckline of
the gown. A beaded flower pattern was scattered throughout the gown and
chapel-length train. Her waist-length veil was held by a headband of roses.
She carried a dozen white roses pulled together with ribbon.
Maid of honor was Paula Payne of Meridian. Other attendants were Melinda
Woods and Melissa Mathis, both of Meridian, and Casey Hicks of Rose Hill.
Junior bridesmaid was Amanda Hicks of Rose Hill. Adeline Ford of Meridian
served as flower girl.
The father of the bridegroom served as best man. Groomsmen were Alan
Thomas and Joey Oliver, both of Meridian, Scott Dotson and Heath McLemore,
both of Rose Hill. Ushers were Clint Dotson and Dale Reynolds of Rose Hill.
Kyle Parker served as ring bearer. Program attendants were Ally and
Meagan Harper.
A reception was held at the church following the ceremony. Assisting
were Willie and Carol Greer, Minnie Bryan, Tiffanie Roberts, Vivian Fulton,
Jean Frazier, Jean and Tara Herrington, Clarice Rasco, Carol Haskins, Mary
Ann Stevens and Donna Brezeale.
After a honeymoon in Townsend, Tenn., the couple resides in Meridian.
Nov. 25, 2001
50th anniversary
Jessie and Bobby Everett celebrated their 50th anniversary during a
dinner held at their son's home on Oct. 21. The event was hosted by their
children, Dr. Keith Everett and his wife, Darlene, Lisa Lucovich and her
husband, Andy, and their grandchildren, Stewart and John Everett, and Jessica
and Allison Lucovich. Several close friends of the couple enjoyed the dinner
catered by Mac Burt, former chef of Phillip M. Restaurant. The couple were
married Oct. 21, 1951, at North Bend Methodist Church in Neshoba County.
50th anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Hardy Jr. will be honored with a reception to celebrate
their 50th anniversary. The event will be held Sunday, Dec. 2, 2001, from
2 p.m.-4 p.m. at Fellowship Baptist Church in Meridian. The couple were
married Dec. 1, 1951. They have four children, Charlene Pieper and her
husband, Fred, of Lexington, S.C., Cindy Luther and her husband, Jerald,
Tammy Rush and her husband, Dr. Leslie Rush III, and Terry Hardy and his
wife, Beth, all of Meridian; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Hardy is the former Juanice Kirkland. Family and friends are invited

52nd anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Floyd T. Killebrew Sr. of Meridian celebrated their 52nd
anniversary on Nov. 5, 2001, with a family dinner. The couple were married
in Greenville in 1949. They have two children, Floyd T. Killebrew Jr. and
Judy Parker, both of Meridian; four grandchildren and two great-grandsons.
Mrs. Killebrew is the former Ruthie Lee Dearman.
55th anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Billy A. Watkins of Meridian will celebrate their 55th
anniversary on Nov. 29, 2001, with their family. The couple were married
in 1946 in Lauderdale County. They have one daughter, Gloria Null, two
grandchildren, Kyle and Apryl, and a very special son-in-law, Dennis Null.
Mr. Watkins is retired from Metropolitan Life Insurance and Mrs. Watkins
is a homemaker. They attend Highland Baptist Church. Mrs. Watkins is the
former DeLoris Baucum.

LAUREL -- Graveside services for Richard E. Lockard will be held today

Mr. Lockard, 89, died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2001, in Laurel. He was born
in Meridian, son of Mr. and Mrs. George T. Lockard, but had resided in
Laurel for many years. After graduating from Meridian High School he served
in the military. After serving his country, Mr. Lockard was employed with
The Office Supply Company until his retirement. He was a member of First
Trinity Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include three nieces, Mrs. T.C. Fuller of Laurel, Patricia
Sanders and Mrs. Leonard Shannon of Meridian; a nephew, Dr. Gilbert Pyle
of Victoria, Texas; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Mrs. Hester, 82, of Philadelphia, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2001, at Neshoba

where she made her home in the House Community all of her life. She was

Mr. Allen, 85, of Pascagoula, died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2001, in Pascagoula.
He was born Jan. 7, 1916, in Paris, Tenn. He retired after 20 years at
Ingalls Shipbuilding. He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in
Pascagoula, the Masonic Lodge in Atkins, S.C., and the Hamasa Temple in
Meridian, where he served as a Pass Potante in 1967.
Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Virginia Ruth Allen of Pascagoula;
a stepdaughter, Caroline B. Mills of St. Michaels, Md.; two sisters, Sue
Wood and Dorothy Harder, both of Coral Gables, Fla.; two nieces and two
nephews.
He was preceded in death by a stepson, Daniel L. Baker.

Episcopal Church in Pascagoula or Trinity Hospice.

Regional Medical Center. He was retired from Kerr-McGee Chemical Forrest
Products Division. He was an elder in First Christian Church, a past member
of the Rotary Club and the Bethany Sunday school class.
Survivors include a son, Paul D. Mabry Jr. of Saint Paul, Minn.; a daughter,
Mary Frances Isley of Seneca, S.C.; brothers, William S. Mabry of Memphis,
