Mr. Schriner, 54, of Philadelphia, died Friday, December 14, 2001, in Pell City, Ala. He was U.S. Army veteran and a recipient of the Purple Heart. 
 

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Schriner of Philadelphia; three daughters, Darlene Alexander and Charlene Deweese, both of Philadelphia, and Janet Strosin of Jacksonville, Fla.; three sons, Ron Schriner Jr of Harrison, Ark., James Smith of Hattiesburg and Wayne Johnson of Philadelphia; three sisters, Shirley Reinier of Annalusia, Ill., Judy Mullen of Mesa, Ariz., and Sharon Rathburn of Rock Island, Ill.; three brothers, Dewayne Schriner of Milan, Ill., Edward Schriner of Pea Ridge, Ark., and Larry Schriner of Moline, Ill.; eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. 
 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn Schriner and Evelyn Fry Schriner.

Mr. Thomas, 81, of Newton, died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2001, in his home. He served more than 25 years as a mail carrier from the Newton Post Office. He was a member of the Newton Volunteer Fire Department form 1949-1984. 
 

Survivors include a daughter, Kay Crenshaw and her husband, Howard, and a granddaughter, Leslie Crenshaw, all of Newton; two sisters, Edith Herring of Petal and Jennie Everett of Newton. 
 

The family requests memorials be made to Southern Care Hospice, 109 School St., Newton, MS 39345.

Mr. Maiden, 92, of Collinsville, died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2001, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Collinsville and a veteran of World War II.

Mrs. Raymond, 82, of Quitman, died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2001, at Riley Hospital. She was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy. 
 

Survivors include two brothers, Otis Fancher of Arizona and Russell Fancher of Hartford, Conn.; a sister, Christene Stierli of Cincinnati, Ohio; eight nieces and one nephew.

RIDGELAND -- Services for Thomas H. "Tommy" Davis will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Parkway Memorial Cemetery. 
 

Mr. Davis, 82, died Monday, Dec. 17, 2001, in his home. He was born in Winston Salem, N.C., was a former resident of Fort Smith, Ark., and a resident of the Jackson area for the past 16 years. He was a member of Lakeside Presbyterian Church. 
 

Mr. Davis played high school baseball in North Carolina winning the championship in 1937. He attended Catawba College on a baseball and basketball scholarship where he was captain of both teams his senior year and chosen best athlete. 
 

He continued his baseball career with professional teams including the Philadelphia A's and the Atlanta Braves. He was selected to seven All Star teams with a lifetime batting average of 318. He played American Legion ball in Salisbury, N.C., having a batting average of 435. He also played right field for the Jackson Senators from 1946-50 and the Meridian Millers from 1952-54. 
 

Survivors include his wife, Martha Davis of Brandon; a daughter, Kathy Staten of Clinton; two stepsons, Jimmy Ratliff of Hattiesburg and Paul Ratliff of Florence; a stepdaughter, Sandra Dickerson of Isola; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. 
 

The family requests memorials be made to Hospice Ministries or Lakeside Presbyterian Church New Church fund.

Mrs. Eakes, 91, of Philadelphia, died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2001, at Heartfelt Hospice Rest Care. She was born and raised in Lauderdale County and moved to Philadelphia at an early age. She and her husband were owner and operators of Eakes Grocery and Fruit Stand. Mrs. Eakes was a member of McLain Chapel Pentecostal Church. 
 

Survivors include three daughters, Annie Lou Eldridge and her husband, Travis, Sybil Waddell and her husband, Leonard, all of Philadelphia, and Doris Janet White and her husband, Jackie, of Meridian; a son, Richard Ivan Eakes and his wife, Barbara, of Owensville, Md.; eight grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. 
 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Henderson Eakes; a son, Johnny Henderson Eakes; and a grandson, Richard Lawerance Eakes.

Mr. Jackson, 47, of Meridian, died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2001, at Ivinson Memorial Hospital in Laramie, Wyo. He was a truck driver for Hotel and Restaurant Supply. 
 

Survivors include his former wife, Linda Faye Jackson, three sons, Derrick Jackson, Cedric McNeil and Brodrick McNeil, a daughter, Jolanda McNeil, three sisters, Jessie Dell Billups and her husband, T.C., Georgia Mae Conley and Lela Mae Jackson, all of Meridian; one grandchild and several other relatives.

Mrs. Davidson, 99, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2001, at Hospice in His Hands in Madden. She was an active and faithful member of High Hill Baptist Church where she spent many years teaching Sunday school, discipleship training and vacation bible school. Her daughter, Peggy Thaggard, stated that the 12th chapter of 1 Corinthians describes her mother because of the love she gave -- first to God, then church, family and friends. 
 

Survivors include a son, Belton "Jeff" Davidson and his wife, Ann, of Van Cleave; daughters, Bobbie Riordan and her husband, Bill, of Monroe, La., Peggy Thaggard and her husband, Joe Mack, of Carthage, and Jane McNair of Walnut Grove; 13 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Marcille Anthony of Meridian; bothers, J.W. Gilmore and Loyd Gilmore, both of Union, and Hubert Gilmore of Jackson; several nieces, nephews, friends and relatives. 
 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dock Davidson in 1964. 
 

Visitation will be today one hour prior to the service at the church.
