In the name of God almighty, I Alexander Hall of the State of Mississippi
& County of Lawrence knowing the certainty of death and the uncertainty of life
and being weak in body but of sound and disposing mind and memory do make this my
last will and testament in manner and form following, to wit
Item 1st It is my and desire that all my just debts be paid
out of my estate. Item 2nd I will and bequeath unto my beloved wife Bethany Hall two
negro girl slaves for life by the names of Timpy and Rhody 1 horse saddle, bridle, one
bed and furniture during her natural life and at her death for her to dispose of the
property as she may think proper, and on the event of the death of the said negroes named
in this item it is my will and desire that part shall be sold to support the remainder of my
estate during her natural life or widowhood.
Item 3rd It is my will and desire that my beloved wife Bethany
Hall do keep together during her widowhood such part of my property as herein after mentioned
for her support and for the purpose of supporting, raising and educating my beloved
children, that is to say the following negroes to wit Halifax, Lindy, Cloe, Ezekial,
Reuben, James, Foster, Gun and Richard and all my stocks of horses, cattle and hogs and
___ of all kinds together with all my household and kitchen furniture __ such part
as is pointed out in item second and it is my will and desire that my said executor shall
give unto my beloved children as they shall severally come of age such property as I
shall hereinafter parcel out in this my last will and testament.
Item 4th I will and bequeath unto my beloved daughter Ida P.
Ransom the sum of five dollars as her legacy of my estate until an equal division.
Item 5th I will and bequeath unto my beloved son Millidge H.
Hall when he shall have arrived to the age of twenty one years old one negro boy slave for
the life by the name of
Reuben and if the said negro shall die before he has received him
then for my said executor to make him equal with the other heirs from the sale of
some part of my estate when it shall be convenient.
Item 6th I will and bequeath unto my beloved son Hiram R. Hall when
he shall have arrived at the age of twenty one years old one negro boy slave for
life named Dennis and if the said negro shall die before he has received him then for
my said executor to make him equal with the other heirs from the sale of some part of my
estate.
Item 7th I will and bequeath unto my beloved son Hardin H.
Hall when he shall have arrived at the age of twenty one years old one negro boy slave for
life named Foster and if the said negro shall die before he has received him then for
my said executor to make him equal with the other heirs from the sale of some part of my
estate when it shall be convenient.
Item 8th I will and bequeath unto my beloved son Howell F.
Hall when he shall have arrived at the age of twenty one years old one negro boy slave for
life named James and if the said negro shall die before he has received him then for my
said executor to make him equal with the other heirs from the sale of some part of my estate
when it shall be convenient.
Item 9th I will and bequeath unto my beloved son M__ B. Hall
when he shall has arrived at the age of eighteen years old one negro boy slave for life named
Richard and if the said negro shall die before he has received him then for my said executor
to make him equal with the other heirs from the sale of some part of my estate when
it shall be convenient.
Item 10th It is my will and desire that my said executor shall
make my four youngest children to wit Eliza A. Hall, John A. Hall, Harman Y. Hall and
Obedience O. Hall equal as they shall severally come of age with the other children from
the Ha__fax. Lastly and her increase if any Cloe and her increase of there should be any
and Ezekial.
Item 11th It is my will and desire that after my beloved children
shall be made equal with each other from the residue of my said estate together with all
the increase which may come to the said estate by kinship if any there be equally divided
between my beloved wife Bethany Hall and all my beloved children.
Item 12th It is my will and desire that Joseph Cooper and Samuel
Staug__ be appointed my sole executors to carry into effect this my last will and testament
revoking all former wills and testaments by me made.
Item 13th It is my will and desire that my said executors together
with the consent of my beloved wife Bethany Hall make such disposition of my land and at
such time as they shall think expedient.

of each other this

The State of Mississippi, Lawrence County} The County and Probate
courts in and for the State of Mississippi aforesaid do hereby certify that the annexed
is a true copy of the last will and testament of Alexander Hall deceased as the same remains
of one in my
office.
