MR. FATE BASS PASSES

Mr. Fate Bass died at the family home near Prentiss at 10 P. M. April 18th following several months of illness caused from a stroke of paralysis. Mr. Bass was 70 years of age and was a member of the Prentiss Baptist Church.

He was truly a good man who lived his religion every day, and who reared his children in the fear and admonition of the Lord. He was a devoted husband and father and was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need of assistance. He will be sadly missed by loved ones and friends.

Fifty years ago he was married to Miss Delilah Walker who survives him, with their two children, T. C. Bass of Biloxi, and Mrs. Eddie Lee Holloway of Prentiss. One brother, J. M. Bass of Prentiss; two sisters, Mrs. Susie Bridges of Whitesand and Mrs. Sallie Burrow of West Memphis, Ark., and seven grandchildren also survive. Another sister, Mrs. V. B. Baker, died several years ago.

Funeral services were held from the Antioch Baptist Church Wednesday afternoon at 4 o'clock, with Rev. J. W. Hudson, Baptist pastor of Bassfield, officiating. Interment was made in the Antioch Cemetery with Messrs. Ray Deen, Curtis Holloway, Otto DeWitt, Vardaman Polk, Johnnie Baker and Dewey Polk serving as pall bearers.

The Headlight extends sympathy to the bereaved family.
