E. E. McNease Dies While Sitting Before Fire at His Home Sunday
PRENTISS, May 7 - Friends over this section of the state will regret to learn of the sudden death on Sunday afternoon of E. E. McNease living in the McNease community eight miles east of Prentiss, from supposedly heart trouble.
Mr. McNease had been in poor health for about a month and had a stroke of paralysis and acute indigestion. Sunday afternoon he was sitting before the fire in a rocker where a few minutes later he was found lifeless by members of his family, having seemingly passed away without a struggle.
Mr. McNease was 65 years of age and had lived all his long and useful life in the Antioch church community in Jefferson Davis County. He, with his good wife who survives him, had reared a large family all of whom are now grown and married.
He was for years a member of the Antioch church, and the body will be buried in the church's cemetery Monday afternoon, Rev. J. B. Quin, his pastor to conduct the funeral rites. Mr. McNease was a quiet, unobtrusive, faithful citizen and had many friends all over the county, as well as relatives, who will mourn his death.
His living children are: Vernon McNease, Monticello: Pink McNease, Winnsboro, La.; Mrs. Talbert, DeWitt.; Archie McNease. Carson: Mrs. Otis Dewitt, Mrs. Hollie Garner, Mrs. Genie Bass, Mrs. Arborgie Lee and Robert of Prentiss. Much sympathy goes out to the stricken family in the loss of husband and father.
