PRENTISS - Robert Holder, 70, an offshore drilling operator for Santa Fe Drilling Co., died of cancer Wednesday at Methodist Hospital in Hattiesburg. Services are 2 p.m. today at Saulters- Moore Funeral Home with burial in Antioch Cemetery near Prentiss.

Mr. Holder was a Jasper County native and a member of Antioch Baptist Church. He was World War II U.S. Army veteran. He was an avid fox hunter and fisherman.

Survivors include: wife, Matilda; sons, Kenneth Ray Holder of Ellisville, Robert Daniel Holder Jr. of Collins and James Alton Holder of Moselle; stepson, Pete Davis Chisolm of Hattiesburg; daughters, Debra Jane Baylis and Elethia Joyce Gamer, both of Moselle; five stepdaughters, Fredna Jean Corley of Florence, Judy Rebecca Corley of Hattiesburg, Dorothy Sue Miles of Bassfield, Kathleen Terrell of Prentiss and Clara Ruth Walley of Brooklyn, Miss.; brothers, William A. Holder of Lake Jackson, Texas, and Hoyt H. Holder of Moselle; and 45 grandchildren.
