Be it remembered that at a County Court held in and for the County of Jefferson at the Court house in the Town of Huntston on the Fourteenth day of July in the Year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and two before Cato West and other his associate Esquires Justices of the County Court aforesaid. By virtue of a Law entitled “An act to provide for the more convenient organization of the Courts of this Territory” was transferred into the said Court from the Court of Common Pleas of the late County of Pickering, an action of Trespass on the case wherein John Hinds Esq. is plaintiff and William Calhoon defendant, The said on a plea of a non assumpsit's (?). Came the said John Hinds Esq.. by James Campbell Esq. his attorney, and also the said William Calhoon by Abner L. Duncan Esq. his attorney and thereupon a Jury was called and impaneled, to wit,

Roland Brown
David Darden
Michael Fake
Everard Green
Charles McKiernan
Jesse Lum

who being impaneled and sworn, the truth to speak upon the issue Joined upon their oath to say that the said William Calhoun did assume upon himself in manner and form as the plaintiff against him hath complained and they do assess the plaintiff damages, by occasion of the nonperformance of that assumption to Twenty one Dollars and twenty five cents beside his Costs. Therefore it is considered by the Court that said John Hinds recover against the said William Calhoon his damages aforesaid by the Jury in their verdict in form aforesaid assessed and likewise Twenty two Dollars and ninety Seven cents his costs and charges by him about his suit in this behalf expended, and the said defendant in Mercy go.
